Flamingo Land: General Discussion

The name is both rubbish and quite possibly clever at the same time. Like @John_P said it's snappy and describes the ride. Yeah it's not creative and I would've preferred a proper name but I can't say I'm surprised by the decision.

A case of 'so bad it's good' perhaps? Or maybe it's just bad...
Oh it's a rubbish name and there's no doubt about it. I just think it has the chance to be a good name for the marketing. People will sort of understand the word but it won't make full sense. It fits what the ride does. It's a better name than Icon anyway,

Really don't see the issue with the name, it's snappy and describes the ride. Plus surprisingly if you look on IMDB no other ride has that name.
Sounds like a challenge for Dwayne Johnson to jump on the bandwagon of.

INVERS10N Is going to be a thing isn't it?

It's already been a thing for quite a while.

Also, this post of mine from 4th June 2019 aged very well :sunglasses:
Does that also imply that the coaster will be called "Inversion" as it is in brackets after it says rollercoaster, and it is capitalised, and none of the actual inversions are that high are they? Does seem like the name Flamingo Land would give it.

They don't do much advertising up north, so they don't target the south at all really as far as I am aware.
They have a very fixed market, the same people suffer repeatedly, year after year...poor souls.

Let's see.

Fabricate and over-inflate the ride cost on an organic social media post, not targeted ads.
Print it on the park map two years before opening with the apparent ride name.
Unofficially announce it in an underwhelming email to a family audience, not a thrill one.

I'm expecting the next move will be recording an advert for the ride, burning it to a CD and then giving it away for free in boxes of Cornflakes limited to the Tescos of Malton.

I wonder how they gonna market it as guests down south unless they going to Yorkshire for there holidays will go to Thorpe park instead to ride the same coaster.

It IS different. And will probably be a far better ride than Colossus.

But most advertising beyond the Midlands will be service station leaflets.
