I would highly recommend Ben foster YouTube channel. It gives you a nice behind the scenes look, he seems a really nice chap.

I almost pity Arsenal, but the fact is the problems have been brewing for years. There's so much dead wood in the squad it's almost ridiculous. There's almost no drive or desire to improve, and I honestly think Arteta has issues with discipline, what with two red cards in two consecutive PL games. With half the signings they've made, I've been sat there thinking 'Who are they?', and with the other half, it's a case of 'Why are they signing for a team that's going backwards and sliding down the table so quickly?'. I have a feeling Wenger got out at just the right time, because he knew what was going to happen a few years later and didn't feel he could change things for whatever reason. Can't blame him if that's part of the reason, really.

It's no use having players like Lacazette, Aubameyang and Pepe if they aren't getting any service, or if the defence is leakier than a bucket with a million holes in.

All the naughty boys hugging and kissing, still, in goal celebrations yesterday, despite repeated warnings, requests and lengthy media coverage.
Rich men doing what they like acting above the rules because they see themselves as beyond the guidance of the mere mortals, or dedicated professionals getting carried away in the moment of ecstasy?

What should we do with these non conformists?
Yellow/red cards...Fines for clubs...Points deductions...Shut the game down until the lockdown is over...or Smacked legs?

Couple of million schoolkids watch Match of the Day every week, the commentators response after the first match on the programme were very poor, laugh it off and they will learn how to find new celebrations over the next few weeks, only 1200 dead from Covid yesterday.

I'm more perplexed as to how their barbers have done those dope fades via zoom @rob666

On the plus side for me is that my team will be Hollywood owned from tomorrow. Still doesn't make sense but hey ho looking forward to seeing the documentary. Apparently our outgoing Chairman demanded that that the floodlights be turned on so he can play whiff whaff on the pitch because he was and under 16s table tennis champ. Burning a few £1000's out the coffers. All filmed for the documentary of course.

I can see both sides of the argument in football.

On the one side it is watched by a lot of people therefore the players should be setting the right example. It angers people when they see footballers embracing as the rest of us cannot see or embrace those outside of our households. And if there are too many more major outbreaks in football such as the one at Aston Villa then there is a decent chance that the season would have to be suspended, which is not in anyone's interest.

On the other side, football always has been and always will be a game of pure emotion. And scoring a goal is the epitome of that. These players are in the zone when playing a match, or at least they should be. Fully focussed at the job in hand, and when a goal is scored natural instnicts take over. And the players are all tested twice a week, which has meant that in the majority of cases positives tests have been picked up before any further tranmission has occured. So come match day the risk of infection is much lower.

I'd rather see spitting and nose blowing outlawed ahead of goal celebrations. At least we took it seriously over the weekend with socially distanced celebrations from Maddison and Barnes for their goals.

Agreed, Footballers seem to get a lot of stick just recently, and some rightly so and some not so. They are in a bubble and they are regularly tested but i do think they need to still remember that we are in a pandemic and that a lot of the population are watching and the media and they have to act responsible also.

I appreciate the passion argument to a extent but it does seems to be football's get out clause whenever they are asked to do or change anything.

I watched Bundesliga when it started backup (who didn't ;)) and they managed it incredibly well and to be honest so did the Premiership when it came back. There was a slight kick off when 2 Union Berlin players hugged! However its all ebbed away and slipped back into how it used to be in all elite levels of football, not just the Premiership. This is where the levels of testing and bubbles get sketchy, particularly below league 2. So a reminder to everyone at possibly the most crucial time and starting at the top isn't a bad thing. The lack of fans also particularly helps in tempering the "passion" too!

I agree Rob, the celebrations from Leicester were nicely played :D

I do also think that if it's that a widespread issue at least for the next few weeks, then why not have the games on a 5 second delay and switch to a GOAL swipe and then head straight into a replay. It takes the pressure off the players to remember in the heat of the moment.

It did start off correctly, this could easily be re-enforced, yellow card for a player would possibly help remind players

So the £11m funding promised back in October to the National League and National League North & South hasn't exactly materialised, but has now been confirmed as a loan not funding as previously expected.

This will likely mean that many part time clubs go to wall later in the year and the Leagues could be suspended later this week.

I feel for Torquay who have been by far the best team in the National League, who probably won't get promoted to the League and will have to start again next season from scratch.

Absolutely disgraceful!

Manchester United 9 - 0 Southampton.

Matched our biggest ever PL win against Ipswich Town in 1995. I...I honestly don't have the words to express how absolutely thrilled I am.

Another solid win for Chelsea last night, Newcastle are a bit of a bogey team for us so its good to get the win and get into fourth place.

Im still sad Lampard was sacked as I think he could have turned it round, But if the rumours are true then Rudiger should be sold in the summer.

Fergie use to say no player is bigger than the club and he wasn't afraid to get rid of big players if they didn't respect him. I think we need to get back to that way
