Forbidden Valley: Future Changes?

I see that LH&T is now suggesting that Forbidden Valley as a whole may be rethemed and possibly renamed to something different. I don't think we'll lose the name, but I think it'll definitely have the Phalanx theme virtually everywhere. However, tongue firmly in cheek I did suggest in the comments that Galactica should be themed to a spaceship voyage to visit the Retrosquad on Planet Retrograde and the area called Area 42 after Project 42!

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they were getting rid of the rusty aesthetic simply because of complaints of the area looking 'dirty' from visitors that didn't get that it was theming.

Oh I think the rusty aesthetic is going as a minimum - afterall why leave the area looking like that when all fencing and buildings associated with Nemesis will be painted black?

Yeah I'm including Nemesis itself in that. I loved the bone track but I have heard people say it was actual rust and dirt instead of a painted effect.

I think if the park wasn’t rusty and mouldy elsewhere they would get away with this theme as obviously deliberate. But it also doesn’t help the reuse of “scaffold theme” in the dark forest and sub terror which could be perceived as the park is struggling with there maintenance.

As news has dried out a little coming towards the start of close season, I do feel like some bloggers are creating videos for the sake of “click bait” currently there just seems to be a lack of evidence and all “guestimate ideas” thrown out there. I mean it already has a loose military theme anyway with the themed gun, entrance theming and Sub terror. It’s nothing we already knew or could work out for ourselves.

That seems very unlikely. I believe that Forbidden Valley will still be quite similar next year.

🤔 It's almost as if a lot of them were guestimating the entire time and hedging their bets...

Anyhoo, I've not really seen anything yet to suggest a huge shift in the overall theme of the ride we've known for the past 29 years. The military overtones have always been there and the concept of the Phalanx were introduced early doors, so if anything they are maybe making the theme a little more cohesive.

Though with the updated paint jobs, you could perhaps view it as shifting the timeline to a little earlier in the battle between the military and Nemesis - rather than entering a post-apocalyptic wasteland, you are entering the wasteland during the apocalypse itself.

All I'll say about this is this, I doubt that. Very much!

I mean, you can make the acronym ariel inversion ride out of air. But I think that was ad hoc after the ride was built. It was a great name for a ride giving the feeling of flight. It was a very unusual name too for the time, if I recall correctly.
aerial inversion ride was used before the ride opened. I bought a t-shirt with the swirl logo and aerial inversion ride on it at the end of the 2001 season when they had the model of the ride in towers trading promoting it.

I mean, with the people who seem to think Air/Galactica will be rethemed during the off season to fit into the Nemesis take over of Forbidden Valley (However this would happen) hell, I decided to throw my hat into the ring of making a proposed rename of Galactica back into Air somehow.

I proposed we called it 'Aerial Incident Response' (A.I.R). Of course this would be something to do with the Phalanx sending out forces to see why both the scientific research base and containment zone for Nemesis would have gone dark. Although, I'll say more if asked, this is better suited for Galactica: General Discussion.

Surely an increase in height indicates a ride system could be housed there in the future. And obviously the reference to rides + operators booth only enforces that more! Exiting times ahead. Sub Terra, Nemesis, Galactica and an additional flat or two would really make this the standout area in the park again.
