Gardaland

They built three of them didn't they? One is already dead. The Russian one - that was awful, too.

Went to Gardaland for the first time in July, thought it was a lovely park but it was a little too hot for me to fully enjoy it.

Sequoia Adventure was 'unfortunately' closed and when I asked I why I got told that because it's a prototype it requires extra maintenance, but I wouldn't read too much into that.

Managed to get on Shaman after waiting about 45 minutes for a ticket to come back later. It was running extremely slowly on one train, probably despatching every 5-6 minutes. They had someone from figment there to sort the VR out but it was appalling, looked worse than 240p and was getting 5fps at best. Made Galactica's VR look good.

Apart from that I though the park was nice, Oblivion and Raptor are good coasters and there's some nice water rides. And overall operations were quite good, similar to Thorpe park on a good day.

I’m sorry if this is me being really late to the point here but I’ve just discovered gardalands version of oblivion. Why have I never heard or seen of this before? Have to say some of the station theming inside and the staffs orange overall uniforms reminded me a bit of the oblivion construction/ opening days and kinda wish they could adopt some of these features for alton.

As someone's just bumped the topic, I'll ask this question: Do you guys think that Gardaland will get one of the two Peppa Pig Worlds that Merlin promised for next year? I'm not so sure, as Leolandia elsewhere in Italy already has one and Gardaland already has an IP area, but I think Garda and Heide are the only real options other than the UK.

To be fair you could slop a bit of pink paint on Oblivion, stick the operator in a Peppa Pig costume and you've got Peppa Pig The Ride. I can definitely see them doing that.
Certainly wouldn't put it past them. The return on investment would be huge. ;)

In all seriousness, I'm not sure where Peppa Pig could go in Gardaland unless they rethemed one of their two existing kids areas (Fantasy Kingdom and Kids Country).

Couldn't they just put him on a big stick somewhere? (If anyone from Merlin is reading this and wants to give me a job with Merlin Magic Making, send me a private message).

Peppa Pig Land announced for Garda.

Where is that is relation to the rest of the park? Never visited Gardaland before. Is it a retheme of Kids Country or is it sort of just a cobbled together area made from a combination of different areas? My next question is; have they announced whether there's going to be a new kiddie coaster or not?
EDIT: For those who are interested, I translated the text on the construction fence. Loosely translated, it reads: "Meet Peppa and George for your first fantastic adventure in the Park! A new and wonderful fully themed area. For more and exciting news visit gardaland.it" On a side note, I am also sensing that another of these could be replacing the Koggenfahrt at Heide Park.

Its behind the entrance by the fantasy kids area. Looks like it might be near the bag drop/picnic area if have my orientation right on the picture.

Not sure whether this needed for the park to be honest as Kind Fu academy needs more investment and they already have fantasy land. Weird.

I can't imagine there would be a coaster here Matt as Kung Fu Panda only got a cheap pinfari and a small flat. I reckon more likely transit rides/stage show/small flat/play park and possible expansion into the fantasy area in the future.

Yeah. I do think this is a strange addition considering this will be the park's 4th kids area when it opens. I also agree with you in thinking there probably won't be a kiddie coaster now you say it, because as well as the spinner in Kung Fu Panda Academy, they also have Ortobruco Tour, the extended Pinfari wacky worm.

On a side note, if I wanted to be pedantic, then I would tell you that Kung Fu Panda Master is a Fabbri, not a Pinfari. But I don't particularly want to be pedantic. ;)

Ah yes :D You say tomato, I say Italian rubbish :p you are indeed correct it's a Fabbri.

It's only a hunch, as it may be that Pepper Pig is part of a long term strategy to replace DreamWorks IP. It could get a coaster but the footprint is small so it seems unlikely to me.

If Merlin's 4 year CAPEX cycle still holds true after 2015 and the announcements of CAPEX reduction in October 2017, then I just realised; Gardaland is due a major investment in 2019. Have you guys heard any rumours about what this could be?
