Hex [2024 Refurb]: General Discussion
Well...They tried.
“Has been tested over 3000 cycles”
Did they do it fully loaded?
Some scenery getting caught could just be one of them things. But the fact it’s taken a cable with it to suggests something more serious has been missed. It could be just a cable has snagged. It’s such a shame given the effort put into it.
Selfishly I’d like them to fix it overnight or just remove that fascia, and reopen ASAP but imagine that’s it.
Well there goes my chance of riding tomorrow.
Cursed indeed

Oh damn, doesn't look great
Hopefully something they can sort for people that want to ride for the remainder of the season

Yes the ride was fine. Just the scenery came loose. So technically mechanically wise it was working fine but it seems that scenery got quite literally in the way to stop it by the looks of things?

Slightly embarrassing for the park isn’t it. I feel for them.
Hopefully with this being only scenic/fascia related (going off the pictures alone), it’ll be back up and running soon before the end of the season. That split cable looks DMX or audio related so it’ll be a quick fix.
Obviously the above is based only on the pictures members have shared!

Wasn't anything to do with being fully loaded or not. It was the facia panel that hides the sliding door mechanism that came loose.“Has been tested over 3000 cycles”

Awful.

I see, well I guess that MMM might be to blame with the theming by adding more which maybe they got measurements wrong which if it had been tested before they had these theme pieces added last minute which could explain a few things.Yes the ride was fine. Just the scenery came loose.

So yeah, not the first time Merlin would remove theming if this is what they have to do get Hex working ASAP though ironically this might be a positive for once having theming removed. What a world we live in.
And if this was a MMM job then heads will roll for causing this blunder.

I hope it hasn't damaged the ride, or it's probably a write off for the rest of the season if so
Oh wow! That is not good. It does look like an audio/video cable of some sort but I think that'll be Hex done for the rest of the season. They will have to inspect that and see if it's damaged any other part of the ride. They will want to check other fascia parts to the ride to make sure it has all been securely fitted.
I have never heard of something like this happening before. They would have to take the inside scenery apart to install all the new lighting elements and run all the cabling through.

I actually wonder if it is scenery or ride hardware, that panel is what protects and covers the door mechanism, more importantly I wonder if they could run the ride without it (increased dust may damage the door mechanism, or it may allow more grease or, or it may be a pinch point etc)I see, well I guess that MMM might be to blame with the theming by adding more which maybe they got measurements wrong which if it had been tested before they had these theme pieces added last minute which could explain a few things.
