THUNDERBIRD!!
It really looks incredible!
0-60 in about 3.5 seconds. Not too powerful, but maybe that's what is needed?
3000ft long 4 Inversions.
Launches into an 140ft immelman, 120 ft vertical loop (tallest Wing loop), overbank, helix,Zero G, helix, barrel roll I think. Interest layout but seems to lack some pacing at points.

Looks OK & a fair bit better than The Swarm. Anybody know what type of launch it will be? Magnetic from the video, but don't know how accurate that is...
SW8 - launched B&M it is then?![]()
It will be using an LSM launch.

Interesting news indeed. B&M seem to have been branching out lately (a family inverted coaster, now launched wing rider). Plus the new style restraints, and unusual layouts like Banshee and Shambala... I wonder, it's almost as if they have brought In someone new to freshen the company up?
It's perfect for Holiday world though as they are very much a family park, this is their first steal coaster, certainly didn't need or want any high intense launches etc.
The park attendance is not that much different to Drayton Manors, can't see Drayton ever adding anything close to the cost of this ride!

Isn't Hulk at IOA a launched B&M? Possibly...the only one?
I was ready for all the moaning about this as a wingrider of any description, let alone a launched one. But I am very happy, as I love 'boring and slow' wingriders, and I even like Baco (at the front on inside seat at least). Something about the launch on Baco is fun. I don't find it as enjoyable on Rita or Stealth.
But to echo Smudge - I wonder what the teal track is for...?

Yes, MTS Systems, and yes, its the only B&M with a launch.I believe Hulk's launch was fitted by another company.
8 megawatts per launch - wow. No wonder it needed its own substation..
I hope that a lot of tree planting and existing trees will create more near misses. I think it looks quite fun. Would have been cool if it was more terrain hugging. I can imagine the launch will be the highlight of this ride. But hats off to Holliday World, first steel coaster and dive straight for a B&M.

They've got the only launched wing coaster outside of Europe, and they've got the ONLY full B&M launch in the world.
Anyone going to give this little park some credit? It's a family park, they don't need the freaking Smiler, yes the ride does amble a bit, but I really don't get the wing rider hate? Isn't it utterly obvious by now the kind of coaster they are supposed to be? Ie: Exactly what they are?
I love intense coasters, fast, terrain, multi inversion whatever, but I love The Swarm! It's smooth, comfortable, in the right places it has some punch, it's definitely different sensation wise and that twist at the top of the lift hill is really incredible. So it's not Nemesis, it's a bit more like air, I pitch it around the middle of the two which is a nice balance, especially for a family ride.
This is a coup for them, and fair play to them for it, it looks a great coaster all bar those couple of turns I agree with Blaze on, and it should serve them well for many years!

Wingriders are a different coaster experience, that, turns out, the majority of enthusiasts find boring. If a wingrider was built that was fast and/or intense, I wouldn't like it any more (or at least, in the same way I like the ones we have right now).
I think I'd be similarly disappointed to see another airtime machine, as I don't enjoy those at all (make me nauseous). So I do understand why people are upset, especially as there now seem to be a glut of wingriders across Europe (albeit only one launched one). We can't force ourselves to enjoy something we find inherently boring/nauseating.
But personally I am pleased, and will now make the effort to visit this park, which wasn't really on my radar before.

It's in the USA Laura. I think if too many are built I would share the opinion, if we have wing rider takeover haha!
However, I think the Wing Rider is a perfect addition to the blend of Thorpe Park coasters, and it's a great thrill machine for a family audience. It hasn't gone up as a Kingda Ka competitor, it's gone up to challenge families in a family run park that's apparently the oldest true theme park in the world. For them, these coasters are perfect. It's great for Thorpe as well to compliment the line up. A decent B&M inverter, (yes, it is), Stealth, Colossus, Saw, none of them are world beaters (one was I guess) but it's a healthy range of decent coasters that makes the parks line up over all enjoyable. I think that's when a Wing Rider fits in perfectly. I can't stand air, I PERSONALLY find it boring and makes me feel ill, but it doesn't mean I cannot appreciate it as a good piece of technology and ride. Same with wing riders, they aren't the most forceful or intense, but they are supremely high quality, liquid smooth, and offers a real fun experience IMO.
