Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Depends if they are willing to take a risk for FHT. Opening the smiler (and probably oblivion too) could bring more people in and would largely unaffect the numbers of families that the event is aimed at anyway so a fall in numbers due to the smiler opening would not affect overall gate figures throughout the event.

However, they could see it as a bad idea as it would keep some people away (don't know how many though) and have all the negative pr right at the start of the season.

It looks like they're looking at the section of track that just comes out of the batwing (so where it essentially stalled). Could be wrong though.

It sure does.... What's that to the bottom right? It looks like rolled up turf!
 
It could do with sorting, the track really does need repainting, when the trains are running we probably won't notice as much, it does look like there is a chance of it opening this season now, even if it isn't that likely!
 
Is this something they do daily before opening? Walk the tracks? Are they doing this so they can start testing?
 
I know they do it at the end of closed season before sending cars round, ready for it to re open and it's been closed quite long now, so they would need to do this, might be worth looking for the H&S reports tomorrow, not sure if they do it daily before testing, they likely do though. It's been closed exactly 3 months tomorrow as well.
 
I think I've read a few posts on here saying that if work hasn't began on it by now it won't be this season it opens.

One thing that worries me is that the media hasn't picked up on it yet.
 
I don't think the media can sell any stories with "testing the smiler" can they?
