Kennywood: 2019 S&S Coaster - Steel Curtain

It was meant to be completed on Monday but winds prevented it from happening. I really hope it's done by this weekend!

Don't worry @Danny; Steel Curtain is now complete:

Should be testing soon!
EDIT: It would seem the link isn't working...

I was literally just posting that haha!

Still not holding any hope should any unfortunate circumstances arise. I believe the electrics are pretty much already done and with trains already on track, I should imagine we'll see testing very, very soon.

COME ON KENNYWOOD!

Yeah the trains were on the track when I visited last Monday (3rd June).

As I mentioned though all the other parts of Steelers Country looked no where near finished either when I visited.

I believe the park are intending to open the ride with or without the area.

Have you considered volunteering as a human test dummy? ;)

Loving the official S&S test dummies mind!

Oh I've already sent them a letter!

"Dear Mr Ken. Neewood.

Please consider this email as my application to become a test dummy for your new Steel Curtain roller coaster in the coming weeks.

My experience of riding roller coasters as a test dummy admittedly, is zero. I have however ridden the Grand National 10 times consecutively without breaking any major bones or ligaments. I have also ridden Balder with the loosest restraint imaginable and also most been ejected to China, so I am fully prepared for all eventualities...."

22 days to still run a full testing cycle and have all the coaster area finished. I suspect it's going to be tight, if at all.

@Danny; when are you headed to Kennywood, out of interest? As I'm hearing 13th July swirling around for a Steel Curtain opening date!
EDIT: Have proof:

So there we have it; Saturday 13th July 2019 is our date!

It could be the worst coaster in the world, however @Danny will still declare it as the best! ;)

In all seriousness, I too am intrigued to hear reviews. If it rides smoothly without too much of a rattle it could be very good!

Wow, that looks rather good and the pacing is top notch!

Can't wait to hear what you think of it in a few days time.
