Legoland Windsor

Think I can confirm the closure of Dino safari. Just gone past on HE and it was missing most of the station and was having lots of work done. Also, a lot of building materials round the back of mia

Happy Easter to all!

After a quiet few months, a few big bits of news that have come out in the last week or two. Firstly, the park has put in an application for Ninjago Masterclass, which will replace Loki's Labyrinth and Longboat Invader. Think Laser Raiders but 3D and using your hands instead of lasers. They are hoping to open in 2017.

The hotel extension is also due to open next year, but no news on the Haunted House. I expect 2018 rather than having two big rides open in one year.

Finally, unfortunately, no UK Garrison this year for LEGO Star Wars Weekend. They weren't able to come to a suitable agreement to return for 2016, but no firm news on why (plenty of speculation on their Facebook page).

A quiet one this year though, with The LEGO Movie 4D and the LEGO death star being the only additions, along with the 20th birthday show and the new Farmer Joe’s Chicken Company.

When I heard about the Haunted House I wasn’t massively excited. For a lot of British parks it’d be a major investment, but for a park that gets 2 million visitors a year it seemed a little lacking. Particularly considering Alton Towers had just added something similar as a support attraction.

But now they’re talking about a ride where you wave at TV screens, I kind of want the Haunted House back.

Alton towers have just shut there's too after only a few years, not a good sign

I'm fairly excited for this new Ninjago ride. It should offer the park another major attraction and also one that's enclosed which is good for the British whether.

Shame we are losing another quiet/crowd escape spot at the park. But I have always wondered how long the remains of the Amazing Mazes had.

I'm assuming this attraction will be for 2017 and Ghost in 2018 (with the hotel between). Presumably if planning is difficult, Ghost is one thr park's fall back for a new ride next year.

Is LI and LL still open?

Can't say I'm massively disappointed about losing them. Ninjago isn't going to fit the area very well though.

Also, is DS gone? Was in pieces at christmas.

Am I right in saying this new Ninjago ride is not only going to be at Windsor, but also at California and/or Florida?

It's hardly a big deal if they're putting the same ride in Florida and Cali... It's a unique idea and it's not as if the three parks are close together...

So today was the first day of star wars weekend. Park was packed, though some queues were very reasonable (5 minutes for many rides throughout the day). Didn't think much of the star wars event. Very little going on really, though the 501st legion showed up (and seemed to have much more freedom this year, very entertaining watching them go round star wars mainland). The new death star room in miniland was fantastic, though I could see it being unbearable to get through if it was busy. Seems that quite a few of the effects in the attraction had been fixed too.

This was my first visit this year, so we decided to try one of the new food outlets, the new hot dog place in adventure land. It appears to be more "premium" than the ones around the park, and the food itself wasn't that bad. Long queue due to running out of wedges (at lunch time), which was the only side option available. Dino safari has been replaced by a green fence (honestly, this makes tower's new fences look good, and you can see it clearly from the other side of the park

they could've at least put some posters on it or something, o had it a slightly darker green so it stands out less. Hope it's not going to be there much longer.

I'm guessing they will cover that with a large promotional banner or something, it's very rare they leave them bare.

In the trading update, Varney confirmed all Legoland Parks will receive Ninjago land & ride by 2018.

Put out an article today on prices. It seems that peak pricing has been introduced, though the reference to this was removed shortly after going up. £5 has been added to day tickets between the initial 2016 prices and now, which is the biggest jump in recent years.

A quick check and it looks like the park is now the most expensive Merlin park.

Gotta love them cookie cutter rides you can buy in bulk... Especially in these drastic times of cuts...
If you're riding something in Windsor, how does it lessen the ride experience if someone else is riding the same ride in California? I cannot work that out in my head.

Is Blue Fire undermined by the clones? No. Neither is anything else.
