Out of curiosity, are Merlin passes now digital only?
With me now working and having money to play with, I’ve decided to take advantage of Merlin’s Black Friday sale and order an Essential pass for £79. I was a bit hesitant to order one at the regular price of £139, or one at either of the higher tiers, as I was unsure I’d get value from it due to me not living within easily commutable distance of any of the 4 parks. But I thought that £79 was astounding value given that a weekend at Alton and a day at Thorpe, as I tend to do annually, would comfortably surpass £79 in terms of park admission costs!
However, I notice that I’ve been sent a link to a pass that I can add to my Apple Wallet, like when you buy tickets. Whenever I’ve had MAPs in the past (I last ordered one in early 2020), there has always been a physical pass sent, and I still had to provide a photo today like you had to in the past, to “speed up processing”, as it says on the website. But today, it gave me a link like when you buy day tickets, and the pass put into my Apple Wallet did not seem to have a photo on it; it was basically a day ticket, but with “Merlin Annual Pass” and the expiration date written on it instead.
Will I get sent a physical pass at some point, or have Merlin made the migration to entirely digital passes?
