Monorail Refurbishment

Personally, I think one of these would be perfect, let's throw the guests towards the entrance.
Turn it into a fantabulous experience and offer free entry if you manage to land within a bullseye on the entrance plaza.

This is much safer than having no air gates on the current monorail anyway. It will pass an H&S inspection with flying colours.
Line 20 of them up on the old monorail station footprint, capacity problem solved.

Very strange decision to paint over that mural too. Short sighted decision.
What are you saying? That you have a problem with a plain white wall covered with cheap 2d signs instead? Wash you mouth out, 2024 is the best season ever don't you know.

It's amazing how the station you showed in your video is identical to how it is now but somehow looks far classier. Just not having tacky vinyls on the trains, having the mural on the walls, and different colours for the station other than just purple makes it look so much better.

If you're reading Bianca (and team), a new updated mural would be great. Get a local college in, give them a few grand, and make it happen. Must have Towers skyline and a couple of garden features alongside rides though. Great project to connect with the local community. Love you, *kiss kiss* :)

Was at the part today and entered a bit late due to traffic so I decided to go on the monorail and the staff were doing good loading all of the bays but the time between dispatches were 3:20 mins, with a full train (6 per row 15 rows) that is 90 people per train, and 18 trains per hour resulting in 1,620 pph, for a rollercoaster that's not bad but a transport ride that should transport most the people in the park in just 1 or 2 hours it isn't the best (most people will arrive arroun 9-11 and leave arround 4-6 for 5pm close) it isn't the best

I think theoretical throughput is about 3000 per hour on the monorail, so running at half capacity sounds about right...though you rarely if ever get a true full train!

Air gates. Just get them in already.

Why are they so reluctant to install them? I don’t understand. It’s a (comparatively) cheap improvement, will improve guest satisfaction and may even allow them to take a member of staff off the platforms during off peak times as well. Win-win for all concerned?

Just checked and the capacity is 4100pph (scource: https://towersstreet.com/theme-park/ride/monorail/#factfile)
so less than half capacity, on a day like today where the queues are low (between 20-40 mins) if is fine, but on the more busy days when even like 30 mins after closing the monorail queue is still at like 30-40 mins it isnt that good, and from what I have seen this feels close to the max the current system can support (maybe up to 2000pph) so that double capacity could help drastically in reducing the queue after closing

Couldn't agree more something it desperately needs, can't happen until closed season being realistic but it would definitely save staff during slow days and speed up opps during faster days a clear win win.

I just walked past the monorail enterance and it is backed up to thr turnstiles (the ones you enter th epark from) with an estimated 25 min wait there are a large amount of people with pushchairs opting to walk back to the car and the dispatches are arround 3-4 mins and this is quite a quiet day and about 30 mins after all the rides closed

I’ve always assumed that they haven’t bothered installing air gates as they keep putting off the decision of what will happen with the monorail in the medium/long term.

It likely needs lots of money spending on it and the airgates will just be one part of that investment.

Seems they are addressing the Skyride, the monorail could finally get a decision after that.

I remember days back in the 90s and 00s where the queue would be coming out of the monorail entrance when leaving the park. I used to enjoy listening to the music and watching the videos on the screens as you queued. At least the queues move quickly for the monorail.

Add the airgates and extend it to the meadows area/woodland lodges car park as if/when the car park moves to the meadows it’s an even longer walk to the entrance or monorail then. Upgrade the trains, add the air gates and then open up the bottom car park for a indoor second gate and resort area

I know this isn’t “news, but I’ve never seen the monorail in such a poor state and so badly run as it was today. Arriving after 12, there were only two trains in operation. They sat at the station after loading for a good five minutes without moving. The queue was halfway down the ramp.

Both the outside and inside of the trains are disgracefully filthy. It takes nothing for someone to wipe them down, but it’s just not being done. There is green mildew everywhere. Quite how management view this as an acceptable introduction to the day is bewildering.IMG_7062.jpeg

On a long list of problems for management to deal with. Only so much money to spread around.
