Does anyone think that Alton towers with make any sort of Nemesis tribute like they have with the corkscrew at the entrance?

I think that’s pretty unlikely since the ride will still exist. Corkscrew was very different since it was being completely demolished and was the coaster that kicked off the park becoming what it did.

I wouldn't have thought so because the ride isn't actually going anywhere, it's just having some major tlc done to it

If they did, then it's only fair they do the same with Duel - but I can't see that happening either!

If they do anything with the old track, I'd imagine it would be limited to using a few pieces as some sort of theming around the ride/queue. Not sure I am expecting that though.

They did it with hulk at IOA and it looks great. I noticed some of the 'fake' track in Nemmys queue line was looking very tired. The box section part was made from marine ply by the look of it and was swelling and coming apart. Utilizing some of the old track in the theming would look fantastic but costly so I doubt it would happen.

And remember that the real track is heavier than the fake track too.

Yeagh. That's what I was thinking. The issues and cost of having to build founds and supports because of the weight wouldn't be worth the hassle.

I doubt it as Nemesis will still be there operating as a major attraction.

If it was closing for good, then yes.

It would look messy anyway. Like wearing Adidas and Nike at the same time. Entrance plaza with just the Corkscrew looks perfect as it is.

I would say that by the time Nemesis should have something on the plaza (30 years time?) that the corkscrew will have been near enough forgotten and the memorial would be put up for amongst other things, the longest running coaster in Towers history

By the time the new Nemesis reaches the end of its lifespan all the other coasters except Wicker man I suspect will be gone so the park will look very different indeed

In the next 10 years I see thirteen and Rita going for sure

I doubt Galactica will but then again I don’t think it will need retracking for a long time as it doesn’t put the same pressure on the track as Nemesis does.

I think they'll just remove Galactica if they decide to use the space for something else.

I know this is about Nemesis but in response to a few comments above, there’s no way Thirteen will be going anywhere in the next 10 years. Absolutely no way. I do agree that when Nemesis reaches the end of its life that most of the current coaster line up will have departed however.

The only other coaster I can see being retracted is Oblivion as there’s hardly any track and they dug a massive hole for it.

I think the first ‘big’ coaster removal we’ll see is Rita.
