Nemesis: Sub-Terra

I'd be slightly disappointed if there weren't a few tweaks to make it fit in more with what is going on with Nemesis, would feel like a slight lost opportunity if they did nothing. Having said that, I do expect the main portion of the ride (i.e. the drop scene) to remain the same.

I don’t know about anyone else, but based on all the marketing materials around the viewing platform, as well as the video released by Alton Towers to publicise the arrival of new track, I’m thinking that Sub-Terra might have an altered storyline to do with some sort of Phalanx cover-up… previous publicity materials have talked about “Phalanx corruption” and implied towards some sort of Phalanx cover-up, so I think it seems logical that Sub-Terra would be altered to embody this.

That would also line up with the reports that people have heard things coming out of the building that were never there previously… what do you guys think?
Regarding the corruption side, I wonder if this could be a hint of a return of the Nemesis cult worshippers who IIRC would sacrifice people for the beast and were there with the ride back in the day and maybe it could be that either Phalanx has been taken over by them or it all along was nothing more than a ruse or trojan horse to get access to Nemesis, would be quite a twist TBH. I did say before that that for Sub Terra could end up being an underground version of Wicker Man which also had a sacrificed theme only this time it is to Nemesis so you could start of with going to examine the egg or whatever they have like with the original ride but then comes the twist in which Phalanx reveal themselves to be the cult worshippers and that this is all a trap for you to be fed to Nemesis by dropping you into the pit. Too late now for this to happen but would have been nice to have seen but then again I did somewhat call it with the Flume Duck back...

I’d be fairly stunned if it isn’t tweaked, it would explain for one thing why we keep seeing clips of the same clip of the (much longer) pre show video because that’s the bit they don’t mind us seeing.

With how close subterra seems to be getting to ready I feel like tomorrow would be a good day to make some sort of teaser or announcement, especially with the general Nemesis hype is at a high point right now.

And Fridays are also usually a good time to make an announcement as it gets it in people's social media feeds and news cycles for the weekend.

There is a lot of activity happening around this today. All elements are testing again, MMM are constantly in and out of the building, exit audio has definitely changed - something along the lines of "red alert, civilians escaping, no one is permitted to leave the facility, immediate apprehension required"

I wonder how much longer it’s going to be now. It must be incredibly close to an opening surely
Suspect that the intention was always to open it around the time that the track started arriving, hence the marketing campaign. Obviously it’s difficult to time these things exactly but I don’t think its a coincidence that it’s close to opening at the same time as we start seeing track.

Guess it’s just down to ironing out whatever needs to be ironed out with the operations.

If the plot of the ride is pretty much a Wicker Man plot but set underground in which you are being sacrificed to Nemesis like what I predicted a few months for this being a plot for Sub Terra...then my prediction according to the exit audio is true! 😄😄😄 Actually come to think of it, I've actually been pretty bang on with my predictions this year such as the Flume Duck returning in Alton Manor and the Alton Manor queue having new gravestones for past rides in place...best of three here for Sub Terra's new plot! 😜

Good to see that it's been updated in some shape or form. With all the activity around it these past few days (even the baggage hold is open), it really must be close to opening. What do we reckon - a week or two at most?
