More theming ready to be used.

Not much more to do by the looks. This almost looks finished. :)

Like I said on their facebook page - the log flume area looks very sparse and a pirate ship in the middle would look fantastic!

Very very impressed! Looks properly smart, with some nice attention to detail in some parts as well. This is definitely the way to go for small parks in my eyes: common ride types with lavish if common theming.

Very nice!

NEVERLAND NOW OPEN!!!! It's finally come to that time, Neverland officially opened this afternoon. We hope you can come down and see it for yourself!

But that's not all..... Keep following this Developer's Diary page because Neverland is just the beginning. Here at Oakwood we have so many exciting plans for future development, with new attractions to appeal to all different age groups. Here on the Developer's Diary you'll be the first to know of any future expansion plans here at Oakwood- Wales' Biggest Family Adventure!

Well, at least they feel optimistic...

I can see them having properly themed areas, somewhat a la Lightwater.

Speed should be themed somewhat, for starters!

:)

well if they keep this up they will be taking the slot as 2nd to Disney in the UK.

For such a young, small park this is great. my hat is off to them :D

Personally, I'm loving the descriptions of the new Neverland attractions on the website. My personal favourites:

Neverland Chase

Taken straight out of the book – rides are lost boys being chased by red Indians – bears and cowboys

Tink’s Flying school

Fly with Tinks

London Taxi ride

Ride through iconic London sights in taxis

This ones quite contradictory...

Jolly Roger

Junior pirate ship for all ages

And this one goes best with a picture:

Crocodile Coaster

For kids with a mean streak – journey through deepest darkest jungle

That last one's hilarious! :D

I commend their attempts but they'd probably be better focusing on getting one really well themed attraction. Pleasurewood seem to have it right... :)

It's got better theming than rides at Alton Towers!

Pity about the lift hill and the areas where you can see the visible tin though. It's excellent to see a park like Oakwood investing in theming though. It can only be a good thing and I hope to see other parks like them putting thought into their rides.

Considering everything else that they've also purchased with the money, it's quite impressive that they've been able to create something like that. If they can add little bits to the inside section over the years, as well as get some trees and plants to grow around the ride and warehouse, this ride will be really good.

:)

First posted by Ian on CF. Oakwood in 'investment brings in higher guest figures' shocker.

Oakwood, Pembrokeshire, trade 'boosted by new rides'

A theme park which was hit by a second power cut in just over a week says its business is booming compared to last year.

Oakwood theme park in Pembrokeshire apologised to visitors after a number of rides were put out of action for a time last Friday.

The park, which attracts thousands of visitors a day, said its turnover last week was 70% up on the same week last year.

But one visitor whose trip was cut short by last week's power failure says she is seeking a refund.

Abigail Neal reports.

There's a video to watch if you click the story. 70% is a huge amount though! :)

Literally the most pointless line ever written in any article.

I'm genuinely surprised about the increase in guests being that big - purely because of Oakwood's location. The park is just so hard to get to, so to bring in that many guests is a huge achievement.

I just hope Merlin are taking note that actually investing money brings in guests :p

It's cardboard mostly printed walls that only go 6ft high with obvious warehouse above. When Towers did similar with Charlie they where slated as they rightly deserved.

It may be a small theme park but that doesn't stop this still being pants theming

What's there is better. There's not a lot of it, but they probably couldn't afford to add much more. It's not incredible, but who was expecting it to be?

I think you will find most of their new theming was done by KD Decoratives and is 3d. :p
