Parque Warner Madrid: General Discussion

B&M trains only enter the station if dispatch is held. The platform host was regularly still filling bays when the train returned, so it would stop outside the station

How does a ride stack on 1 train?

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but I thought that stacking only occurred when another train was occupying the next block? If there’s only 1 train, then surely that isn’t possible?

Sounds like the station host was not available to bring it in as they were committed with batching faff.

I love Gotham City Escape so much I was considering getting a season pass for this year. But it seems the issues I encountered shortly after opening still haven't been sorted.

It never opens on time and when it does, it goes down constantly. Don't know if it's an Intamin issue or park maintenance but something isn't right with it.

Even when it does run for the odd hour or so the queue moves at a snails pace.

Sadly as someone who used to live in Madrid I can confirm that operations are just generally poor across the board in Spain. There's just no rush in them.

I remember visiting Parque Warner on a completely dead day in 05 where the park was less than 15% full and still being annoyed with the ops and queuing.

I guess I'm lucky then...
Visited Parque Warner twice this year and BGCE was running perfectly. It was down for a few minutes the second time because it started to rain, but then back up and running. The park was empty and the queues were pretty fast... we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for it and were able to ride it 10 times :tearsofjoy:
Currently this is my favourite roller coaster and I can't wait to ride it again!

Interesting story this week: a judge has backed Parque Warner in a legal row over whether it can legally ban guests from bringing their own food and drink into the park.

Upshot is: the ban’s fine for safety reasons and to protect the park’s profit margin:

That's really not great. I see that an exemption is permitted for those with special diets but a medical exemption certificate is required. Not everyone with restricted diets has a medical diagnosis. Even for those that do, tracking down the paperwork confirming as such could be very tricky.

Frankly as well, having spent an hour queuing for Superman on one train on my last visit, I wasn't too interested in spending a lot of time in one of their sit down eateries.

It all seems rather punitive. The key to encouraging people to use your F&B options is to make them good enough in terms of quality, value and choice that people don't want to bother bringing in their own food.

Absolutely agree! Surely there are other ways they can increase their profits!

At least their beers are massive!

There was a shop near Pinto station (nearest to the park) that sold ice cold bottles of water for a euro which was a lifesaver. It's a shame this ban is coming into effect though

I see we've finally come across a line that will not be crossed by Thoosies to visit a theme park.

Slavery? Fine. Death penalty? Fine. Torture? Fine. State endorsed assassinations? Fine. State sanctioned discrimination against women? Fine. State sanctioned discrimination against LGBTQI+ people? Well it doesn't apply to visitors, so also fine. Heck, maybe all of this tourism might actually make things better and, you know...

A ban in bringing your own sarnies? THAT'S TOO FAR! BOYCOTT!

What else are thoosies supposed to put in their draw string bags other than their folded over jam butties?

Obviously this is just a joke to some people, bit actually it's a pretty serious issue if parks think it's OK to deny paying customers the right to consume their own food. Despite the medical exemption, I can see a lot of people with genuine need feeling unable to provide the necessary paperwork and being put off visiting as a result. In a lot of cases restricted diets are more psychological than medical and there wouldn't be any way to establish eligibility for an exception without a formal diagnosis. I got my coeliac diagnosis over 15 years ago, I don't have a copy of the letter confirming the diagnosis and I wouldn't know where to start trying to get one. I really don't think this is acceptable - nor is it helpful to make fun of people that take their own food into parks for entirely legitimate reasons.
