Phantasialand: General Discussion

On the 'So Good/Bad It's Good/Bad' quadrant, Hollywood Tour has to be in the 'So Bad It's Bad' quadrant. It's just completely diabolical, and it needs to go.

Hopefully they'll get rid of Hollywood Tour and NightHawk with it...

They seem to be sticking around for the time being. Night Hawk last season received a soundtrack from IMA score. Doubt they'd invest in it if it'll disappear within the next few years. The building both rides are in also hosts the park's dinner show - it's theatre received a large refurbishment for the 2014 season. So it won't be demolished anytime soon.

I suppose they could put new rides in the same space. Personally i would just like a retheme (small simple enough project for 2017 the park's 50th anniversary)! - Well i say retheme, in TONH's case actually add some theming.

The logo for Raik has been released. The largest Vekoma Family Boomerang coaster in the world.

Last Klugheim update from Tobi

A overview of Taron and Raik's track layouts without theming. (Prize for whoever can work out that is going on that mess...)

Another wood carving decoration on the roof of the transfer tracks.

One for anyone who remembers the old Phantasialand Jet monorail. The jet used to go through this small tower at the River Quest station. The hole in the tower has now been closed up with themed windows.

Tobi isn't 100% sure about the details of the theming on the Raik lifthills building over River Quest but this what he believes is there.

Theming on River Quest now includes more green windows. The track of Raik is in front.

So that is the last update before the park opens tomorrow and hopefully we'll get to see some good real photographs of the area and rides.

Also following on from Monday's announcement that it would be removed, (I'm very happy to report) the Race for Atlantis dome as of yesterday has been fully demolished.

Phantasialand have posted a couple of photos showing off River Quest... This one in particular is incredible.

Theming looking insanely good :D

Goodness that looks amazing. River Quest is my favourite water ride and this retheme has certainty big time improved it!

This place is just taking the piss lol!

Yes, we all want theme, but can you STOP RUINING OUR PARKS PLEASE! :D

Seriously. This is an INSANE level of theme for an independent park!

They've raised the bar to a frankly absurd level.

There's no reason AT ALL Towers shouldn't be like this. BETTER IN FACT as they have MORE resources!!

Breathtakingly brilliant.

Cannot help but admire this.

I think I'm right in saying this park has less annual visitors than Chessington? This is seriously impressive. Hardly believable they've already started on the next project, if it's on the same level as Chiapas and Klugheim then this will be a seriously impressive park.

I can't tell if that train is really chunky or if it's just the way the tarp makes it look?

It looks a little bit barren in that last pic if we're being honest, guessing the planting that'll grow in will help there though...

Phantasialand have been so consistent with the theming qualities going back a fair while now... I'm interested to see how Klugheim compares to the Africa area especially as that's pretty damn immersive...

Also excited about the queue, as all the queues bar Winjas are pretty awesome as well...

I have to say this has been one of the most fascinating rides to follow due to the excellent 3D modelling by Tobi. It's almost like watching a really intricate RCT3 park slowly getting built, wishing it really existed. Then you get an actual photo and the reality hits, it does exist and looks just as good!

It kind of reminds me of all the YouTubers that play the VR version of Helix only to find out it's a reall ride, but this gets me every update!
