We hope everyone had a great Christmas & New Year - We're back on park and so excited for 2014! We've got news on our new ride, investments on park and recruitment all to come in the next few weeks - Make sure you keep checking back here for all the latest! :) #ILOVEPWH

We'll be announcing the name of our new ride this week! What do you think we should call our new Wild Mouse Coaster? #ILOVEPWH

Teases. Interesting to hear of some 'investments on park', presumably separate from the coaster. Maybe an update on the Enigma (overrated) refurb?

And hey, the Mingo mouse may not be very good, but at least it's not a Reverchon!

Re: Pleasurewood Hills 2013: Hobs Pit Dark Ride / Pleasurewood Chills!

I hope those investments include repaving some of the park. The cracked tarmac and pavements don't look very nice at all. It'd be interesting to see what else they are doing this season, I personally would love to see an indoor play arena for the youngsters - the park has nothing like that anymore.

Re: Pleasurewood Hills 2013: Hobs Pit Dark Ride / Pleasurewood Chills!

The Enigma refurb is set to be complete for this year... it'll be running two trains, yes... TWO!

But yeah, I'd like to hope there will be something else too.

Apologies for the quick double post (bad team member!) but I can confirm that the park will be receiving Flamingoland's old Wild Mouse coaster:

More good news from a park determined to become more professional.

Thanks to your feedback and comments we're pleased to announce that Pleasurewood Hills is to become a no smoking park for 2014. For the health and comfort of our guests we're putting in place 'designated smoking areas' throughout the park. Another reason why ‪#‎ILOVEPWH‬

Other news confirmed by the park on Unofficial Pleasurewood:

- Tales of the Coast (frankly dire) will be receiving some sort of cash boost.

- Hobs Pit will feature some updated/new effects.

So, that's a crappy, knackered old second hand mouse, still no refurb of the only half decent ride they have, and they are jumping on the "discriminate against smokers" bandwagon? Looks like another year where I have no reason to visit the place.

'only half decent ride they have'? Hob's Pit is excellent, by far the best ride in the park, and that is getting a refurb.

Excellent to hear about Tales of the Coast, which is truly utterly dire. That needed a rework more than maybe any other ride in the park.

Given it's mostly a family park that probably attracts few thrillseekers, is it all that much of a surprise that they're banning smoking in the queues?

I don't see it as discriminating against smokers, and with 80% of adults in the UK that don't smoke it makes sense to cater for the majority and ban smoking on park and in queuelines. Queuelines especially; I think it's very ant-social to smoke in a queue. As long as there are smoking areas in sensible places and not too far from any one point then I can't see it being an issue.

On the subject of the mouse (built in 1997 it makes it PWH's youngest coaster!) I hope the park will do a good job of it - on the Hobs Pit presentation evening they said that Hobs Pit will be the benchmark for all future attractions and judging by that I have high hopes.

I was refering to Enigma, which for me, is the only ride I would return for. Generic Boomerang, generic large Tivoli, generic flat (dull) rides etc do little for me.
I'll admit, I've not been since Hob's Pit opened, but I don't expect a lot from it.

Although I agree on some of those points PWH do have one of the best drop towers around despite it being straight out of a fairground and nothing having been done to it.

I'll try and get official word from the park but during last season they did say it's refurb should be finished for this season. Whether that simply means two trains this year or a repaint I don't know.

Another bit of news from the park: this season the Laser Labyrinth will become a free attraction :)

Great news of the Laser Labyrinth becoming free another attraction added to the ticket price is always a good thing.

Ah, did I get the wrong end of the stick then? I thought it said the referb wasn't happeneing till next year? Two trains will be a vast improvement.... Except that the thing was designed to run at least four. ;)

Well it was supposed to be done this year; its been ongoing the last couple of years. However there hasn't been any word of it this season

They were doing it over a couple of closed seasons, they'd done most of the work last year I think so I thought they were going to finish it off this closed season - will have to see though. It is a shame though, I think it actually arrived at the park with 4 trains :/

I read somewhere that the other trains were taken apart for spares due to the fact the manufacturer is no longer around. So I think there is only a maximum of 2 trains available.

That's correct :)

It is a shame though...
