Pleasurewood Hills

Not quite sure I agree with this to be honest.

It's true you don't need to be member of a forum / cred counter level to go, but just to attend one in the first place there has to be some general interest surely? Otherwise why are you wasting your time and money? I think all people who make the effort to go to a Merlin Park / Disney / Universal park must have some slight interest in rides and attractions on some level.
Maybe they just want a fun day out? You don't need to have an activity as a hobby-level to enjoy doing it. Many people enjoy going to the cinema, theatre, ten pin bowling, etc and most of those wouldn't count it as a hobby either. I watch Marvel movies but definitely do not count myself as part of that fandom or see it as a hobby. Many people just see an amusement park as a part of their holiday (beach on Monday, Pleasure Beach Tuesday, Tower Wednesday etc). Of course some parks like Alton Towers are more of an independent day out rather than part of a holiday break, but a lot of people just see it as a "trip to Alton Towers" not "my hobby is riding rollercoasters".

Families do theme parks...for the kids.
Non thoosies tend to grow out of these things in their twenties usually, then go back to them if/when kids come along.
Otherwise, parks are not really for grown adults.
More geese and squirrels.

My kids love theme parks, and we try and go whenever we can Pleasurewood is well located for people visiting the region they just need to give people a.more compelling reason to go.

I do thing the UK holiday park industry and the air BnB crew got far too greedy in lockdown and raised prices too high. Places like Flambards felt the effect when families were priced out. I think some of these destinations need a reality check. Theme parks are not always masters of Thier own destiny

A full list of the parks new rides are now available. A planning application has been submitted to the local council with just over 4 weeks to go to the start of the season

A 36mtr big wheel ( close to wipeout)

A 30mtr star flyer ( close to wipeout)

A spinning coaster up to 12mtr high ( opp lake where the summer circus visits )

A apple coaster up to 5 mtrs high ( where the kiddies area is near the ride on horses )

To be installed for a temporary period of up to 5 years after which they can be removed, all to be installed on existing sites within the park

Great news! Here's hoping it gets approved.

Here's the location plan:

The Spinning Coaster is perhaps a little too similar to Marble Madness but makes sense for Stokes to put the ride here if it's sitting in their inventory.

The Big Wheel and the Star Flyer would massively change the skyline!

Sounds like good additions to start with hopefully, they can get the theatre back open and maybe bring Aladdins Cave back in a new forn

I'm seeing more effort put in this year than I have since Peter and Peggy Hadden ran the park. As well as the proposed rides, Premier Attractions have already improved the lighting in Rootin Tootin. Most owners this century (!) seemed to put most of the money into refurbishments, and struggled to get round to new rides, but now we're getting both at once.

I think the proposed rides are well chosen, as they're not too extreme; and assuming they keep all the other coasters going, will take the coaster count to six, which on its own makes the park feel more major.

I would like to see a large scale wooden coaster at some point that would fit well.

Maybe a return of the old Huss Tri Star Ride to. (Never done a Tri Star before)

Last time I checked they still had Tide Traveller sitting in storage, with the ride arm just left there until 2019 when it was removed.

Good on them. Decent selection of mid attractions that.

To be honest, they're not that great. I rode one at Bembom Bros Margate, and didn't think it was as good as the Troika. I hope you get to ride one though, and I definitely agree with you about the wooden coaster!

Could be they are hedging their bets on retrospective planning approval with a lower risk due to the non permanent nature of the attractions? Seems all the rage these days with the general delays of... everything, especially if you have inside information giving you confidence of approval.

Reminds me of the Alton Towers Mouse which i believe managed to operate without permission and remained on appeal until they had to remove it but got a few years out of it.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this lineup.

A big wheel is kinda whatever. Seems to be shorter than the one at Yarmouth.

I've never rode a star flyer so that'll be cool to experience for the first time, although looking at a couple videos it does appear to just be a taller waveswinger? Can someone say how much difference there actually is with the ride experience between these two?

I don't quite know why we need a second mouse coaster at the park. Why couldn't they just upgrade the marble madness cars so that they'd spin, wouldn't this have been cheaper even? I don't know much about coasters though so I'm guessing they need dedicated tracks that send signals to the cars for this to work? Again, not sure how much difference the experience will actually be between this and MM.

An apple coaster... don't we already have this exact same model like 15 mins away at GYPB? I would find it a bit funny if it even comes complete with the big apple structure. Hopefully they actually theme it to fit within the park. Actually, I am hoping all the new additions fit with the parks overall theme aesthetically.

I'll be looking forward to going to the park later on in the year. Despite my initial thoughts, honestly I'm very glad that we're getting new rides at all, and I'm really hoping the park can recover and last for many more years.

Also, while I'm here, can I just say, my biggest disappointment with the park in recent years was the removal of that big food place they had in the northeast corner of the park. Pretty much the only food place on the park that I actually liked eating at. I hope they're doing something about the food. Also, I'm not sure if they can realistically do anything to combat this, but the amount of wasps you get around the park in summer is really annoying. There's gotta be something that can be done about this? More shelter from the sun would be a nice addition too (particularly over the top of ride queues if possible).

Anyway, really exciting news in general, I just hope this is only the start of something big for the park (I hope it's not a kind of deal that they'd just add these rides this year and then be done with it).

This is good, but the planning application does seem to be quite late, I don't even know if they'll get that approved before the scheduled opening.
Well we don't know. The wheel is already on site so they must be confident.

The planning application went in 22nd Dec yet was only Validated thurs 17th
