PortAventura: General Discussion
At least it doesn't have the internal seat divide other Millenium Flyers have right? It's a bizarre move as the ride was genuinely ok to ride, rather like how you expect a fun rickety woodie to ride. I actually think that currently it's probably the third best coaster in the park as ludicrous as that sounds, a great kids coaster.
Maybe they got the new trains as part of some kind of deal with GCI? If Stampida does get new trains but isn't retracked, then it'll likely still be unrideable.

Mini-lennium flyers have no seat divider, the idea is that the adjacent restraint will function as one if the seat is empty. I'm not sure if this will allow 2 adults per row though, as the trains are quite a bit smaller than the standard flyers.
Bizarre that they're doing anything at all to it really, it's arguably the best woodie in Spain and easily the #3 coaster at PA after the B&Ms.

It's nice to see an update on Stampida and Tomahawk's attraction renovations as theres been no update since their announcement last year.

Stampida Attraction Renovation
As you can see from the photo below the first bend following the first drop has now been banked. The building you can see to the left is the Penitence School.

Sea Odyssey Removal
It has been confirmed that my previous thoughts were correct and Sea Odyssey will not be opening for the 2015 season and is currently being removed. The high tech simulator attraction opened in 2000 with the Seafari film ending in 2010 and other ocean themed films ending in 2014. Designed by Universal Studios the attraction saw guests enter an underground Institut Oceanique to embark an underwater adventure with beloved dolphin Sami to rescue the lost submarine Seafari 1. Over the course of the Halloween season the attractions ride building also played host to 'Europe's longest scare maze' [REC].
Unfortunately this brings me onto the next piece of sad news, the attractions replacement...
New for 2015: Edad de Hielo la Experiencia 4D
Or more unfortunately known in English as Ice Age: The 4D Experience
In the latest press release by DIARI de Tarragona, PortAventura stated Ice Age: The 4D Experience would be joining the line up in 2015. It's yet unknown when the attraction will open this year as nothing has been announced so far. It is expected this it to be one of the 'surprises' to be revealed throughout the year for the 20th Anniversary.
Although Sea Odyssey had run its course in my opinion, I'd have liked to have seen a better use for the space than another Ice Age attraction. Hopefully PortAventura will do their best to blend the attraction into its Polynesian surroundings. *fingers crossed*

Ice Age in Polynesia? Much as I love PortAventura and frequently defend the park it does feel like they're slightly losing the plot at the moment.
What a frankly bizarre choice for Polynesia. If this is the reported improvements/enhancements then I think the management have lost the plot.
Sea Odyssey in its first form (I believe built by Universal?) was one of few fully realised and immersively themed attractions at the park, and also most importantly was original. The successive replacements have been unoriginal and theme changes weren't made to reflect the films, but Ice Age in Polynesia is just a new low. A new original dark ride/themed attraction that to be a legitimate replacement for Sea Odyssey is what PortAventura desperately needs, not another copycat IP.

With less than 24 hours before the 20th Anniversary celebrations begin, the Park and cast are receiving their final touches before tomorrows launch. From the photos below the Parks 20th Anniversary decorations look stunning!

It's also interesting (and rather disappointing) to see that PortAventura are naming it 'Ice Age: The Ride'
If I was visiting the park for the first time and saw Ice Age: The Ride I would certainly expect more than a simulator to be honest. Let's hope all the original Sea Odyssey queue line theming has been changed at least. If they had left that and simply put in an Ice Age film that would be beyond disappointing.

I think 19 'new' shows includes the replacement shows.
@siralgenon Do you know anything about the 'Celebration' show, is it the usual song mash up for 30 mins or have they changed it to something else? I miss shows in there that used to be themed around the areas.
Nice theming throughout the park too. Looks like they've made more effort than the 15th Anniversary year which is good.

Theming looks excellent.
19 shows on top of existing? Like 25-30 shows!?
So far (for the Sping Season) there are 11 new shows and 2 existing shows at the Park. PortAventura have said a further 8 shows will be revealed for the Summer Season.

I haven't watched it because I want to see it in person first. But I've been told 'Celebration' is a combination of the best parts of the PortAventura Generation trilogy alongside 20th Anniversary songs and acts. Usually the show completely changes the year after the Anniversary, as it did with the 10th and 15th when a new 'brand' of show is released. If that makes sense.

I completely agree! And to make it worse the one Pirate show at Alton Towers is the same show this year as it has been the past 2 years. It's not even a new version. It infuriates me that PortAventura and EP and the like can have 15-20 shows taking place daily... from large to small... and here in the UK we're left with kiddie stuff only.
Bah.
If you're interested this is PortAventura's show schedule for the Spring Season: http://img.portaventura.es.s3.amazo...15_en.pdf?_ga=1.82000211.479716562.1426015904

This year (at the moment) the only show that isn't on every day is Sand Animation which isn't on Tuesdays. Everything else is daily. My only bone to pick with PA's show schedule is that they don't run every day.
When I went in 2013 I was left quite disappointed as we didn't actually get to see one of the biggest shows because it didn't run on that day.

That's one thing I actually quite like about PA, the variety of shows (even if most of them aren't as English-friendly as they were back in 2007 and before).
Weird they are advertising Sand Animation as new, that was there last year. Glad it's back though. Interested in seeing what they've done with the stunt show in Far West too, seen some pictures of the set that looks pretty much the same, although it looks like some new stunts have been thrown into the mix. All these changes this season along with 20th Anniversary celebrations are making me want to go back there.
