It seems to be a complete mystery at the mo! @djtruefitt and myself were taking geeky pictures of it, but we can't quite tell what it could be!

I would be extremely surprised if a queue other than The Smiler or Rita reached more than 2 hours, so don't worry about it on that front.
Just whatever you do, wait until an hour or two into your day on park before you decide to buy fast track. I've seen people just going straight to the Resort Box Office and buying gold/platinum fastracks, without even seeing how busy it is, and it turns out to be fairly quiet. Waste of up to £100.

Last year when I took a disabled person to the park, the only ride we weren't able to access was the rapids. This was because of the moving platform, your time to get on and off the boat is limited. This was stated in the disabled visitors' guide at the time. The Flume was different, as they have what I can only describe as a lay-by where they remove one boat from the system and keep it still when you get in, and the same on the way out. I'm writing my article on provision for disabled guests, and can't find any reference to this re the rapids in the new disabled visitors' guide. Does anyone know if it's still the case that access is only via the moving platform, or have they found a way of keeping one boat still like on The Flume? The only restriction mentioned in the guide is that guests must have the ability to brace themselves.

As far as i'm aware nothing has changed with the rapids, there is certainly no extra lane or anywhere you would get on a boat other than the moving platform. And I don't think they ever stop it, I have certainly never seen it stopped, and always seen disabled people leave their wheelchair in the middle of the platform, or near the photo building.

Howdy all, does anybody know if the Bounceback/Towers2/whatever-they're-called-this-season tickets you can get from the Box Office on the day are valid for the fireworks at the end of the season? I'm struggling to find out a straight answer!

I would assume so, as it says come back any day for whatever the price is, and unless it states it in the Ts&Cs then I'm sure you'd be able to. You'd be best to tweet the wonderful AT twitter account @altontowers, as they usually reply really quickly and are very helpful.

Cheers for the response, just had a reply on Twitter. For anyone else interested, normal Towers2 tickets are valid until the 6th Nov but they apparently have a separate Fireworks Towers2 for £19.50.

We have a quick questions topic for this kind of query!
In answer to your question though...I genuinely don't know. The terms and conditions are a little confusing...

My guess would be retail kiosks are places such as the Archway Tuck Shop and the Katanga Kabin. But food kiosks are Nemices, Waffles'n'Ices, Mutiny Bay Donuts etc.
