Bit of an odd one here guys, but I can't think of a better source for this information than the good people of this forum.

I'm writing an academic assignment about Consumer Insights currently. It's absolutely awful, as although the subject of consumer insights sounds quite exciting (a subject matter I should enjoy), it turns out it's mainly about data analytics (a subject matter I despise). I have a very brief section (just 500 words!) to make an infographic about Customer Journey mapping. Since the academic source for the customer journey map is Towers and Towers (2022), I thought I'd bung something together about the guest journey through the app. Since I'm not currently at the park and am unlikely to go again this year, I don't have access to many of the pictorial features I'm writing about.

Do you guys have any screenshots of the app that I can use? I will of course only use with permission. Anything of the following would be useful:

  • A marketing notification on a home screen. Something like advertising Scarefest, or the opening of Nemesis Reborn. Basically, something that the proves the app reaches out to you to raise awareness and stimulate a purchase.
  • Anything with an upcoming visit on it. Basically after you've paid, maybe something in the 'Plan your Visit' section? I'm trying to convey what happens between purchase and the day of your visit.
  • Any marketing communications received through the app whilst on the resort. Dungeons are now open? Buy Fastrack? Purchase scare maze tickets? Have you paid for parking? Visit again for Free activation? Book your evening meal? Basically any examples of how the app communicates with you whilst on resort.
  • Anything after leaving. How was your visit? Did you enjoy Funk N Fly? Anything the app does for after sales service basically.
Anyone able to help? I know screenshots get posted from time to time. Does anyone have any hanging around in their phone? They don't have to be recent, anything from the last few years will do.

We're planning on visiting this coming weekend, actual day to be confirmed tomorrow. If you'd like I'm happy to send you screenshots of my app "journey" for the visit. I'll even add the generated MAP booking to the app, and enable all of the marketing and data schnazz for you, if you'd like and don't get a better offer.

Is this specific to AT or any Merlin one? I currently have an alert from yesterday at Chessington inviting me to visit Enchanted Hollow whilst on site.

That would be absolutely amazing! I'd be eternally grateful. I can get all the purchase stuff etc, map of the park and all that stuff as I can do that right up to the payment screen and then backing out. But I'm a bit stuck with the marketing notifications they send to phones from time to time to lure you into the app, anything they send between purchase and visiting (like "it's nearly time for your magical escape...." kind of stuff), obviously all the stuff they send you whilst in the park itself, and possibly the "rate your experience bit".

I can obviously get old emails and stuff, but the piece is about how the app itself nurtures the guest through the journey (followed by a big academic piece about how they collect and analyse your data, profile you, segment you, targeted MARCOM etc). It's basically Customer Journey Mapping with a data analytics edge if that makes sense?

It's due a week Monday but I'll be extending that. I'll probably complete on my house sale in 3 weeks time so I'm looking at 2 weeks today to finish. I have loads to write in the meantime, and I've made the infographic, I just need to insert pictorial examples. In AT purple of course!

Has anyone seen any evidence of pass holder prices for individual scare mazes this year?

I seem to recall being able to buy some last year, but the app seems to only be showing full price at the moment. Appreciate tomorrow is the first day of scarefest so may not get a definitive answer until then but going on Saturday and trying to plan ahead!

You can buy discounted one shots at the box office on Towers Street and the Forbidden Valley Guest Services Hub 😊
 
Please can you tell me how I can purchase these.
  1. Walk into the Towers Trading gift shop, on Towers Street, at Alton Towers.
  2. Find the Croc charm you want, take it off the display.
  3. Waddle over to the checkout area with your Croc charm in hand, and wait for a cashier to serve you.
  4. Hand over your selected Croc charm, allow them to scan it and then either hand over the appropriate amount of cash, or insert your debit / credit card into the card terminal.
  5. Once the transaction has been authorised, you'll be presented with a receipt and a Croc charm, and will be able to leave the store with both.
