Quick Questions

Minor pedant here.
Do they actually still take cash?
Other outlets don't...especially beer shops.
Cash is still accepted at Towers Trading:
How about ApplePay?
Apple Pay / Google Pay are technically virtual credit / debit cards, linked to your original, but created each time you use service on your device. Both would require you to present them to the card terminal.

Did anyone else take out an annual photo pass for Alton Towers this year? We did on the first day and it worked a treat, gradually amassing a whole gallery of photos over the season, till September when they were all suddenly wiped, with just a couple remaining from our most recent trip (now with a 45-day expiry date on them). Asked Pomvom about it, they just said tough - all photos are kept for just 45 days before being removed and that’s that. This wasn’t the deal when we signed up for the pass - all we were told was that the in-app storage would top off at 200 photos, after which we’d have to manually delete photos to create space. No mention of expiry dates and photos being automatically removed, otherwise we wouldn’t have signed up for the thing in the first place. Doesn’t seem right to to change things so dramatically without fair warning, surely?

It's not and I implore you to have a look for a copy of the original terms of service that you agreed to. You were most likely emailed a copy when you signed up for the service, have a dig around and let us know if you find it. I would be curious to see what it says.

If you haven't backed up the photos yet, all hope might not yet be lost. I doubt they've purged them from their servers just yet, so you could submit a GDPR request.

Thanks very much. I was just issued with a QR code from the Box Office when I signed up (the same system as when you buy an all-day photo pass), no terms of service or email came with it. Yes, I reckon the photos are still on their servers too (the same company seems to deliver the photos for BPB and other Merlin parks and have in the past retrieved individual images long after the original event) - but how would I go about submitting a GDPR request?

Planning on going tomorrow but just seen the weather forecast and its not good from noon.

Do thry run the coasters in the rain. What tends to be the cut off for severity of weather for rides to shut

Just a quick question: given that the standard car park is right next to Forbidden Valley (specifically, Nemesis Reborn), is there any reason why Alton Towers have never created a side entrance into the park that way, instead of everybody having to walk all the way to the main entrance?

There is a side entrance to Forbidden Valley, for hotel guests only. It's not big enough to be used as a general second entrance though.

Infrastructure.

The valley couldn’t handle the majority of the parks peak attendance coming in that way.
