What a retard.

Saying that, wouldn't the cable car act as a conductor of electricity?
(Or perhaps the girl had had just seen Snooki in the distance..)

If the cable car was hit, the current would flow along the cable and down the nearest pylon to ground. She would have been fine.

We are very saddened to report to you that there was an accident at around 6.30pm tonight at our fair on Abbey Park. The ride involved in the incident is called Mega Bounce (frog ride). Two boys aged approximately 16 years were injured and taken to the Royal Infirmary. A full investigation has begun and the fair will remain closed until further notice. We are awaiting further information on the condition of the injured boys and we will inform you as soon as we know anything. Our thoughts are with the boys and their families at this time.

cubwolf, many thanks for bringing this to our attention. Sounds terrible, particularly if the rumours being posted on the Facebook page about a death are true.

NBC10 Philadelphia -Ted Greenberg

Shane Matus had quite the ride on Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags-Great Adventure in Jackson Township, NJ on Thursday. Matus was hit by a bird during the ride. NBC10's Ted Greenberg spoke to the 12-year-old about the wild incident.

A boy was hit in the face by a bird while riding the Kingda Ka roller coaster at a Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey Thursday, a spokeswoman for the amusement park said.

The boy was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries to his face and neck after the 4:45 p.m. accident at the park in Jackson, said the spokeswoman.

The 12-year-old boy, Shane Matus of Howell Township, told NBC 10 Philadelphia the coaster was returning to the station when he collided with the bird. He wondered if somebody threw a ball when he felt the impact.

"When I started spitting out feathers, I was like, 'that was a bird,'" he said.

Matus had bruises and scratches on his neck and face from where the bird struck him. He believes the bird was a pigeon.

"They say the bird exploded," he said. "It hurt a lot for like three seconds. People behind us had feathers and blood all over them."

The 45-story Kingda Ka coaster, which reaches speeds of up to 128 mph, was shut down for 30 minutes after the incident.

Ouch! Local news video. Spotted by ECG on CF.
