I hadn't experienced it before as my first Thorpe visit tied in to Fright Nights, paired with being at the front of the group. The only odd niggle I had with it was an actor randomly decided to throw a few explicits and the bird at me. At no point did I consider this to be scary in the slightest, rather unnecessarily rude.

And yet it all looked cheap
Forget Alton Towers and Thorpe Park! Tulley's Farm is where it's at for Halloween.
No seriously, it is generally fantastic with a large range of scaremazes. I'm hugely disappointed that I won't be able to visit this year!

I wanna go to Tulleys Farm this year, it's not all that far from me and its open on the 10th, which suits me as its the day before my Opeth gig... :')

In other news, Gerry Cannell is returning to the park over Scarefest to reprise his role as Dr Kelman.
I know I will get some deserved stick for fan-boying.... but....

Don't really know how they could have evolved it that much without him... all we would get is a new actor that says "I am the new owner, after Dr Kelman, suddenly... disapp- resigned" or something along those lines.
I'm not too bothered with Sanctuary staying the same. It's a pretty fresh maze when you have right next door to it TOTT which is in desperate need of an overhaul.

I beg to differ, Sanctuary is probably the stalest maze of them all. Yes, TOTT is beyond repetitive now but at least to some extent it feels more thrilling, atmospheric and holds its own weight in that sense. Ultimately, something will be done with TOTT, however there are only so many routes you can potentially go down with The Sanctuary's theme that inevitably, due to the ever shrinking budget, will never come to light.

The issue the sanctuary has is it's story was so linked into The Smiler that it has now become redundant. I think it was a great example of a maze with a good narrative but now that narrative has been over taken with the ride it has nowhere to go.
Generic scare mazes like TotT and Carnival have longer shelf life's as it's about the scares, story based mazes like Sanctuary and Field will only ever last so long before they feel a bit meh.

Ah right. I assume this was located where the lodges are going? And how did it work? Was it a maze or a walkthrough, and I'm sure it's much less scary in the open than in a building. It sort of ran across a trilogy, year one was zombies attacked Altonville, year two was a few survivors have tried to return to Altonville (and a few loonies), year three was researchers/ army trying to study the zombies then everything went wrong.
