I don't think that means it will necessarily change. it's probably just so people know it's an area f the park, rather than something for Scarefest. As all the other sections are in that font and it's only the mazes and Franklyn's farm that have their own special font and design.

Hi everyone. I don't post often but you lot have certainly made for interesting reading. I'll be honest, I find the actual track layout (assuming the one in the plans is accurate) looks repetitive, almost as though it's doing the same element or motion over and over. However, what is really making me tick is the proposed theme for the ride.

The whole concept of X-Sector I find desperately sinister and I'm really excited to see an extension of this with SW7, further pushing the boundaries of the back-story and hopefully, bringing a very chilling theme or story to the surface.

In an ideal world? I'd want the Sanctuary and SW7 to have strong parallels to American Horror Story: Asylum. Take a look at the multitude of teasers on their facebook page. It feels very "ministry of joy", or at least my interpretation of it! Teasers start from August.

Anyone know if the camera that has been installed on top of The Fried Chicken Co is actually a time lapse/webcam and if so, anyone have a link to the feed/videos or know when they will be live?

It is believed that Alton Towers have installed a time lapse camera above the construction site, although nothing has been confirmed by Towers. I would assume the time lapse would be available just before the 2013 season starts when the SW7 site gets fully updated with wallpapers, features, videos, adverts, storyline etc...

Just to post too. For those who have not seen our news article today. We can confirm that concrete is due to be poured on site over the coming days with track to follow arrival on site. Although it is still unclear whether any vertical construction will take place during what is left of this season.

They've made the X-Sector sign rusty.

So they're taking the easy way out and going for 'left abandoned'.

Looking at the room and assuming they have standard inversions, this ride could have around 11 inversions. There is not enough room, even with the deep pits, to get many more in. It would give it the most proper inversions on a coaster, as the record is Eejanaika with 14, but the track actually only inverts 5 times. This would mean that technically SW7 would have the worlds most proper track inversion, but cannot really say it is the roller coaster with the most inversion. This would explain why they are not marketing it as a world's first.

Didn't realise most people classed Eejanaika as having the most due to it only really being five? I thought everyone still classed Colossus as having the most?

Exactly, but the official record holder is apparently Eejanaika, but Colossus is regarded has being the record holder has it has the most proper inversion. So if SW7 can do one more, it would be the record holder as such, despite Eejanaika inverting more.

There is a ride being manufactured with 11 inversions in China, all Alton Towers need to do is open theirs first :p

I think in guinness world record eyes only true inversions count.

Apparently not. But that is stupid.

From day one of the plans I thought inversion record was the most likely, followed by vertical launch.

HI All. Today's Photos.
The whole site looks much tidier.

In the video posted a few days ago, it did state that SW7 was a World's First - even though the posters say 'World Beating' :)

But let's face it, that doesn't mean much. One poster can often say one thing and then another say something else.

I'd have a guess that it is some sort of world's first, but couldn't world beating and world's first mean the same thing when talking about inversions.

If you think about it, if they achieved the inversion record, then it would be a world's first, but it would also be world beating as it's taken the record of someone else.

I don't know if this is 100% accurate or not, but apparently to gain the official world record for number of inversions, all of the inversions have to come after one lift hill/launch. So with SW7 having two lift hills it would not actually be able to claim the official Guinness world record. Of course for marketing purposes a record number of inversions is just that, they don't need to be in the book!

:)
