Silver Dollar City: General Discussion

If a powered RMC coaster is what SDC are getting, then it will be interesting to see RMC enter new territory, and their own take on the powered coaster!

Silver Dollar City have won best theme park from USA Today. I'm sure that it's a great theme park, but I don't trust these sorts of awards.

It's a great theme park, but having been there can confirm it isn't the best.

This is my number 1 bucket list park in America. Thinking of arranging a trip but obviously it’s in the middle of nowhere so getting to it is tough. Anyone been before and can offer advice? Is it just a case of flying into Springfield and hopping on a bus? Looks far away so a taxi would be expensive surely? Thanks.

I’ve been a few times and always had a hire car. One trip we drove direct from Texas and the other trip from Cedar Point whilst visiting other parks on the way

The water splashdown isn't new as the current version already has one, although the onboard audio is - it'll be interesting to see RMC fitting this as it looks as though they're using their standard trains. Hopefully without the awful restraints.

The spec sheet above states that the trains will seat 12 riders across two cars, that's 6 per per car. Don't RMC cars usually seat just 4?

Assuming that this is to be located behind the kids area where the small drop tower is, and not the old building?

If so, saw the clearing for construction last year and the site is huge. Given the costs they're looking at this could be a brilliant family ride.
