No SRQ on Smiler ? How can that save staff cost. They still need someone on baggage batching merge point.
Very strange.

Unless they've closed the baggage and fastpass goes up the old SRQ side of the stairs (perhaps a new fence separating them to stop people switching queues), then it's all done by the person on the platform. No SRQ on Smiler ? Baggage holds on Thirteen and The Smiler have gone, so less staff are needed. Thirteen is a simple one as the fastrack queue can just go straight into the station where the single rider queue did, and disabled continue to use the exit.
Not sure how it will work on The Smiler though. H&S will not allow guests to queue on the stairs in there, so someone is still going to need to batch guests. Then you have the disabled queue which also leads to the merge point. Getting rid of single rider on The Smiler seem the strangest decision.
I am pleased that it is staying on Spinball and they are not directing fastrack up the single rider queue. Wet weather single rider is brilliant!

At least they're doing something right. Good riddance to SRQ as queuelines on all attractions were starting to get a bit ridiculous with 47 different lines to choose from. There was a time I was convinced they were going to start splitting off queues based on age groups and gender.
One queue for all would suit me just fine.
I can’t understand them getting rid of any of them![]()
But on Oblivion removing SRQ doesn't save any staff. Also, if we are to believe that they can't let people queue up the stairs on The Smiler due to fire regulations, there will be no staff saved by removing SRQ there either. It is nothing to do with Fastrack sales.
It is to do with the fact they can save on staffing costs if they don't have merge points.
I believe SRQ should remain, is a valuable tool for guests and keeps queues slightly lower.
However. It won't be the biggest loss and to be honest, I hear it's staying on Spinball - which has the best SRQ anyway. Especially when it rains.
Smiler and Th13teen will be a loss.

Has spinball been put back to 3 people in a car when wet ? I thought it was 2.
.It's a terrible move by the park for me anyway. I'd rather have a srq than have rows of 3 instead of 4 etc.
