Six Flags Great Adventure: General Discussion

I'd have thought Sea World already have this as the world's first launched flume coaster in Catapult Falls? I'm not sold on this being Magic Mountain's investment.
There’s an argument that Catapult Falls isn’t a coaster, but instead a launched log flume (I don’t think it’s listed on RCDB), whereas the Freizeitpark Plohn creation is most definitely a roller coaster.

I understand it's a water coaster rather than a flume. Catapult Falls is a flume as opposed to a water coaster.

Drone footage from yesterday shows that Green Lantern has been reduced to just the lift hill. Meanwhile all thats left of Ka is the tower and a small section of brake run. The work near the base of the tower appears to be explosive installation. With the demolition permit stating implosion would occur this week (ending on the 16th) it would seem that Kingda Kaboom is imminent 🫡

Christ, seeing that makes it hard to believe that I was riding both of those coasters a matter of months ago. Although I am pretty sure that I can see people in that video still queueing for Green Lantern from when we were there, poor souls.

I must admit, I think seeing a coaster blown up could potentially be one of the most fascinating and dramatic coaster demolitions to ever occur… this really will be quite a dramatic demolition!

Sad day indeed.

Luckily I managed to ride it back in 2009 quite a few times whilst living over there. It was only many years later when I managed to ride TTD, so Ka was the only coaster that literally took my breath away and made me nervous as hell on my first ever go.

Still gutted as I'll be there in June, thankfully I rode it and Zumanjaro back in 2019.

Just two pretty unique experiences, the new for 2026 coaster will really have to be something special to replace everything the park has removed.

Hopefully the demolition of the tower will be filmed and shown, at least they've got the empty space around it. Imagine if Cedar Point ever remove TT2 blowing up that tower will be significantly more difficult.

The main rumour going around at the moment is that it’s going to be the tallest, fastest and longest spinning coaster, with a height of 290ft. So think Ride to Happiness plus Hyperia, and then some more…

You still wouldn’t want it falling in the wrong direction. I’m wondering the locals will just hear a load bang at 3am one morning.

Yep certainly don't want it falling backwards and squashing the woodie behind 😬

I imagine Great Adventure is under New York time, so it would be around 2-3pm BST (New York is 5 hours behind).

As sad as Kingda Ka being demolished is, this will be a truly fascinating thing to witness!
