Spinball Whizzer: General Discussion

Joined up just to comment on this. Sounds like we were a few people behind you when it started “raining”.

I know Spinball has had its downtime issues, and take this into consideration when joining the queue. If this is the new policy though, I will have to give serious consideration about joining the queue when there isn’t a full blue sky.

Hoping it was just opening weekend nerves getting the better of the ride ops.
One to monitor.. Later on in the day I was over by Wicker when there was very light drizzle was coming down. I'm sure I saw the ride operating in some capacity. My old man's eyes couldn't tell if people were on it though.

New staff have either got communication wrong or a ridiculous policy has come in

On Sunday I was sat near wicker eating my lunch and it rained ever so slightly, such a small amount we didn’t even move whilst eating.

We went over to spinball and it said weather delay on the board but nothing else was shut, as with wind smiler is usually first so shut.

So it does seem weird if this is a new policy and what classes as wet weather, as there was so little rain on Sunday it would have made zero difference to how the ride ran.

For content here’s a pic I took.

The girl who looked to be managing Spinball operations walked down the queue line to explain the “15 mins from the last raindrop delay” and commented that (someone in the office) said, “are you sure?” as in disbelief when she phoned the rain delay in.

My opinion here, is that the policy was massively misinterpreted and that they will learn from it.

I’ve always been surprised how long Spinball has actually lasted - I remember it being marked for removal in the Long Term Development Plan (remember that?) due to its close proximity to the Towers.

This change does make operations unsustainable due to the rain Staffs climate. Could see it going in the next couple of years.
