Watching the 'Great Old Amusement Parks' documentary (for anyone that wants to see it it's repeated at 8:50 am, Monday on PBS America, channel 166) again and saw this old Boat Chute ride located at Lake Winnie in the US...

It's just like these:
Here's the ride's profile on Lake Winnie's website. It was apparently built over the winter period between 1926 and 1927, so it's pretty old!

Wicksteed Park have two versions of this ride.
The original was opened in 1926 although not quite as impressive looking as the one Al posted:

Love the way the splashdown is actually just some pond, I remember it being full of algae when I rode
but their modern versions (not sure if it's still there as they don't appear on the park map) was a bit more exciting:

I believe that the Nautic Jets (the newer ones) were removed a couple of years ago to make way for something else, which is a shame, as I loved them when I went back in 2006. And the pond scum in the pond/lake for the Nautic Jets didn't exactly look very nice, I have to confess.Tim said:Wicksteed Park have two versions of this ride.

That's a shame. I swear I went last year but on reflection it could have been the year before... my memories of wicksteed will always be drunk dilapidated mini golf and those terrifing water rides...

Oh, they were a bit terrifying, but they were great. My mum went on them when she was a child, so they were around for a long time. One memory of Wicksteed Park is the carousel stopping for about ten minutes and several staff members trying to help my grandfather get down from one of the horses, which was rather embarrassing.
Anyway, this is getting a bit off-topic.

Anyone request a Jurassic Park rip-off dark ride?
Hilarious Promotional Video:

Such a shame most of it doesn't look that good because the animatronics don't look half bad.

We don't have a strange "walkthrough" topic, so this will have to do.
TPR filmed this at Selva Magica in Mexico, it's a walk through of the internal organs of a pregnant woman.

I can't believe they used the actual JP music! ;D Must have been library rather than scored, which is a surprise, otherwise I cannot understand how they got hold of it!
That aside it is hilarious ;D
