I'd be worried if the Toadstool was around 50 years old personally. Could be proved wrong though!

Ah back in the days when Towers did proper theme park shows.

That reminds me, I have a video kicking about which I need to upload, it's a Halloween stage show performed on the old outdoor stage in Fountain Square, where Woodcutters now stands.

It was such a brilliant park back then.
 
After seeing what Dynamo used to be, I wish that I was born around the 80s or 90s to experience it having ridden a HUSS Breakdance at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2015! Why Alton Why???

It'll be better run at a Kermis/Fair anyway. We all love a good Breakdance (I even have the scars to prove it) :p

I couldn't say, I have a hard enough time remembering who owns UK traveling rides! :p

In further off-topic Breakdance chat, I'm off to Winter Wonderland in a bit, so will report back on how their BD stacks up.
 
Its definitely the best Breakdance in the UK, that's for sure! Shame it travels Germany for the rest of the year!
 
Well given that the only other one in the UK is on Blackpool Pier, that's not hard! But anyway, I can confirm that it was running in full on crazy German mode. :D Nice long cycles as well, due to it being quiet.

But anyway, we're starting to drift off topic. Wouldn't want to get told off... ;)
 


Found this on Youtube tonight. Uploaded around 4 months ago. Towers family trip footage from 1992 (view from around 45 min's in). Funny how you can see the top of the Thunder Looper track from the white bridge near the lake in front of the Towers :)
 
Awww cool video. Yeah surprising how high Thunder Looper was. Always used to scare the hell outta me as we reached the top of that track no matter how many times I went on it! One thing never changes though....... the weather lol!

My god just look how clean and beautiful the park is, especially the gardens! Lots of open space too without stupid HB game stalls around every turn. Just makes me hate Merlin even more after watching that.

Interestingly, in the 80's the park was hitting 2.5m visitors per year. We know in the mid 90's during Tussaud's magic era the park hit 3.5m. And since Merlin's takeover the park has been consistently averaging around 2.5m again, and now down to 1.9m. Just goes to show that Merlin have not grown the park at all.

I'd choose the park depicted in that video over what we've got today.
