My god, I was thinking forbidden valley, forgot about DF! That would be a perfect setting!

That looks a bit like a Circus Circus, which I found very dull compared to a Polyp or Breakdance. Personally I don't thing that kind of multi-spinning flat works with OTSRs, it ruins the crazy "thrown from side-to-side" feeling you get with just a lap bar. Also, because of that motion, I can see it being a headbanger with OTSRs.

i think Alton towers ought to get an Intamin Gyroswing, like Maelstrom at Drayton Manor.

Perhaps it could have custom designed seats and themed to the chained oak, now that's an awesome concept!Seems to have a nice whip to it, but I still think such rides deverve lap bars.

Sad but trueI think The smiler has priven that Towers will never choose lap bars over OTSRs.![]()
Good thing they didn't now though. Rita would be great with lap bars though. At least 13 doesn't have OTSR's.I think The smiler has priven that Towers will never choose lap bars over OTSRs.![]()

Rita needs OTSRs, due to the force of the launch. if it did have lap bars, they would need to be very tight and restrictive- making the ride less fun and more painful. I've heard that Rita's OTSRs are quite comfortable.Good thing they didn't now though. Rita would be great with lap bars though. At least 13 doesn't have OTSR's.

yes, but they're not usually as forceful as Rita, are they?Plenty of launched coaster have lap bars.

How about TTD? That's double the launch speed of Rita and that has lap bars and its 420ft highyes, but they're not usually as forceful as Rita, are they?
They really aren't.I've heard the Rita's OTSRs are quite comfortable.

I can vouch for that - I have to lean forward on Rita to stop my ears being destroyed by being bashed around between the restraints. They really aren't.
