The I Feel Down Topic.

Thank you both for your advice, I shall definitely have a look into it :) Only worry I had about getting an electric keyboard was the fact that my favourite pieces require use of the pedals, so I'm not sure how that would work

You can buy "aftertouch" pedals. They vary in cost, you can spend pretty much as little or as much as you'd like. You can set some velocity settings (volume) to control different parameters, for example sustain, filtering, etc - these are usually controlled via the VST instrument itself. On many the velocity can control multiple parameters at once, but it obviously then does change the actual mechanics of how you play which will be counter intuitive to your muscle memory.

I'd never say using this budget way of doing things will equate to a fully realistic replication of an actual piano, but as something to play about with and enjoy it's a good compromise. You can even get fully weighted midi keyboards, and of course there's the option of a "proper" keyboard as it were - but they tend to be more expensive.

As I say though, the distinct advantage is being able to actually mess about composing your own pieces - you can buy automated drumming VSTs that are pretty realistic, and basses etc - you'd be surprised nowadays what the tech can do!

Anyway it's something you know is a potential option, give it some thought, maybe try and find a local music shop you can go and have a play with some in :) - and you're more than welcome, anytime. :)

Yesterday, my dearest Thumper unexpectedly hopped over the Rainbow Bridge and I've never felt more heartbroken to have lost such a wonderful pet. We've planned his cremation and funeral but beyond that, grieving is the only thing I feel I can do right now.

I hate this time of year. I just want to curl up in the corner and hibernate 'til spring.

I feel like crap. broken ribs, funeral of the father in law tomorrow afternoon. and the shop are playing the same 5 xmas song too loudly over there PA system in the hope to get last of your money out of your pocket. ALL i want for xmas is no rib pain, be stuffed with xmas dinner and taking the mick out of xmas tv with the family.

Not been sleeping or eating properly, if at all. Feel like I'm dying but can't fix it

Not going out and socialising with friends since August.

It just seems as though I've been forgotten about everyone. And even when I want to organize something with people, I never can because I feel as though I'm bothering them. It's worse when I see them out with others. It just makes me feel worthless.

This doubled with not really having a Christmas, hasn't set me in a good mind set for 2015.

A days worth of 2 different painkillers, ibuprofen gel, heat pads, and I'm still crippled with back pain. It's only going to get worse over time too. Can't say I was ready to be this haggard at 22.

*Looks it up*
Dang, that sounds nasty buddy. I would offer a hug, but it'd probably make things worse. ;)

I dealt with an AS sufferer who collapsed due to the pain. From what i saw its a horrid condition. Bear i hope you pain management get the pain under some type of control.
