The I Feel Happy Topic!

A very special thanks to @Skyscraper , @Bowser and @GooseOnTheLoose for your support in providing me with material to use in my latest Uni assignment about Consumer Insights. I submitted it around 2am this morning.

After a terrible time at school in the 90's, and years of being told I wasn't good enough, this marks the half way point in my Degree Apprenticeship (in terms of assignment submissions anyway). 25 years late, but I've finally slayed the maths dragon this year and achieved Level 2. This is a big thing for me, as although that's only GCSE C grade, I hate the subject and not at all good at it.

I'm actually really enjoying writing and learning about new things. I never thought I would enjoy education this much, but it's really enjoyable. I applied originally in the hope that they'd accept me, and when I got on just staying the course a getting a Third would have done. But I'm currently sat on 73.9% so far which has vastly surpassed my expectations. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to be here.

That's fantastic mate. I went back to Uni as a mature student so I know what you're feeling. It's great to put these individual projects/essays together and then get recognition at the end of it. Enjoy the rest of the journey, it'll be over before you know it :) 👍

You're very welcome, please keep us updated! Glad to hear it is going so well.

My local Asda had an accidental shipment of loads of Polish food, cured meats, cheeses, sausages, meals, deserts, so was knocking it all out for 80p or less with long dates on. Love Polish food. I'm eating like a Polish person for the next couple of months!

Double Post sorry but with the last of my stuff moving into my flat, all my guitars are safe and sound in their new home with a new stand to boot which I'm all happy with. :)

I am a complete guitar outsider, but considering you have 7 of them, I’m guessing that all sound a bit different. What gives them a different sound?

Three of them being bass guitars, and only having 4 strings, is a bit of a good start.

One being acoustic, and not electric, is another easy answer.

For the other three, on a technical level, only really the pickups and electrics on an electric guitar will differ the sound. I can't speak for why @QTXAdsy has gone for the guitars that he has, but weight, feel and cosmetics will play a part of it.

String choice, and body material, also have an impact.

Nice Hofner!

To answer your questions, I have three bass guitars, a Traben which is the red one and my personal favourite, a vintage 1976 Rickenbacker bass I got on Ebay years ago which is a beautiful piece of pit and ofc the Hofner bass which unfortunately is out of order atm due to a broken tuner head that needs replacing.

They all have different sounds in which the Traben is good for most rock sounds or playing slap bass, Rickenbacker has the more warmer sound and likewise the Hofner though it has a more hollow sound and is easier on the back as it isn't heavy but is the one I'd use if playing with a acoustic band.

The other guitars are two fenders, a blue and brown one is which the former is my first electric guitar and sounds great with age and the other was one that was donated to me by an uncle which this one has a whammy bar and can be good for slide guitar. My favourite electric is the Les Paul which is the black one which I nickname Gunness due to how it has a secondary cream colour on it which add to the black looks like the drink in question.

Finally there is the acoustic guitar, Brunswick, which unfortunately is not a favourite of mine as its huge body makes it hard to play which is a shame as I love playing more acoustic work so on the future I plan getting a more suitable replacement. But yes, the reason how I went to bass was I was in a (failed) band in high school in which our bass player went to another band and no one wanted it so I had to step in a play bass though being a guitarist more I have more of a melodic Paul McCartney sound as play it subtly for the most part.
