The I Feel Happy Topic!

I somehow managed to exchange and complete today. Don't ask me how, but I'm not complaining. :p
See that I find really strange. In the past you'd have maybe a month between meaning you had time to pack up all the things you needed before you knew you were moving, book moving vehicles, make arrangements for pets etc. Now it's a few days if that and putting all that in place at the last minute is just added stress.

Congratulations on the new house though @Jonathan - big moment for you! Obviously a closed season housewarming party is mandatory...

I think it helped that the property I've bought is vacant, and I don't have a property to sell either.

I've heard a bit of this going on recently. Usually down to a few factors. If the house is vacant, you have a good solicitor, and a mortgage provider who can release funds on the same day it can be done.

We're a chain of 4, all living in the houses we currently own, there's been 2 highly dodgy and poor communicating solicitors, estate agents working various hours, and there's at least 2 building societies as lenders who usually require a bit of time to draw down funds. It's customary to be a good 2 weeks between exchange and completion.

More cooks spoil the broth, poor communication throughout. We still don't have boarding for the pets or removals. But we'll figure that out somehow. We have certainty now and we'll make it work.

Anyway, back to this house warming. I'm picking @NuttySquirrel up, @rob666 and @DiogoJ42 are loading the Volvo full of beer and grabbing @GooseOnTheLoose on the way through. What time do you want us?

Well then, today I turn 32 today...another year getting older which I'm going to try and enjoy. Funny thing is my family did say I should try that marathon at Towers today but I'd rather drink myself silly rather than run round a park in the winter haha. 😜

You could always do both... Last weekend tbh

Cooking tea and looked over at my fridge which is filling up nicely with the magnets I've bought from various trips over the last 2 years... add that to the review of my spreadsheet the other day, and the nice people I now call friends and life is bloody good. Well, work still sucks but you can't have everything...

My old dog went in for surgery to sort out some rotten teeth, at his age waking up from anesthetic is no certainty... 26 extractions later he's through it and seems so much happier, they were obviously bothering him more than we realised. And he's still happy to pose like an absolute tart.

Silly links that make you smile.

I read in the paper yesterday that a couple of vehicles had been nicked from Windsor Castle.

Last night, mid evening, the bloody Windsor Castle rolls past the back of my house at about thirty miles an hour...dark, throbbing and menacing,

Things are getting out of hand.

I blame Labour.

Just had our "thanksgiving special" D&D game (Most of the group are Septics. One Canuck plus two Limeys including me).
Didn't stop laughing for four hours. The final boss was a giant turduken. 🤣
I wish one of my party members would stop trying to softlock the game at every turn by killing everything. This is my first time with the game, and I’m DM!

He’s been playing it for years!

Hehe. Won't lie, I trolled our DM in this oneshot, by bringing a character that is a former NPC from the last game I ran. A build that would NEVER be allowed in a real campaign.
He's a Nilbog.... a backwards goblin. When you attack him, he gains hit pints. But try and heal him and he is hurt bad. Also has low saves and is vulnerable to ability score damage, so far from immortal. Oh, and if he gets hit by any kind of fear effect, everyone within 30ft has to save against insanity. (Yes, that happened in our game tonight. Our DM is not an idiot).

In my game, the party found him trapped in a hunting snare. They rescued him, and he became the "fearless party mascot" who was great at tanking AOOs. Naturally he had to die. They liked him. The more a party likes an NPC, the more they have to die horribly to send a message about how bad their stakes are. ;)

Hils, upon seeing this character's name on screen: "You never told me Zag had a surname??"
Me: "..... You never asked? Dude has more backstory than a Paizo NPC!"

Didn't we have a TTRPG topic somewhere? I think I may have started it myself... many, many moons ago, before such things were "cool".
It may have been back on the "old site" though.
I dunno. CBA to search for it.
