'Theming' shouldn't really be used just to cover up ugliness. There's not much you can realistically do with a wooden black shack like this, without caking it in objects, which would just unnecessarily attract attention. Some simple decoration (or demolition) would be better.siralgenon said:I hope they add some theming to the games unit but I bet they won't -_-

Tuggerz said:I personally don't believe there will be a secret element. Not at this point.
It's likely something to do with the actual track itself or even the trains, Which reminds me, Any idea of when the testing will begin, I intend to pop over and get some shots of it testing.

The Alton Towers Resort is set to launch its biggest ever rollercoaster for the 2013 season. Adding to its existing portfolio of over 50 rides and attractions, The Smiler will open alongside The Smiler bedroom, and 14 new Moon Voyage themed bedrooms in Alton Towers Hotel. The first of its kind in the world, The Smiler will be the biggest ever investment for a ride at the Resort. Whilst the world first element is still under wraps, the coaster is set to provide an experience like no other ride. It will marmalise your body and mind, combining intense physical effects from plunging drops and extreme turns with twisted psychological effects. The Smiler features five mind manipulations: The Inoculator, The Tickler, The Flasher, The Giggler and The Hypnotiser to provide a complete physical and mental assault on riders. It will turn you into a smiling advocate. Featuring plunging drops of 30m, a ride time of 165 seconds and a track length 3x the length of Oblivion, The Smiler is set to be an intense addition to the Alton Towers Resort’s line up of adrenalin pumping rides.

While it's pretty much common knowledge amongst us enthusiasts, they've never announced the number, and one of them's indoors, so they can still argue that it's 'under wraps'. And it's a pretty significant world's first!
