As I said yesterday, it was quite obvious that it wouldn't open for the weekend. There was just too much to do, especially in regards to the "hazard stripe" theming in the pit. 31st May will be the opening if indeed they are still planning to open it in May.

This whole shambles has drained all the excitement from me. I have already wasted time, money, and work holidays and I'm not prepared to second guess when it will open and risk wasting anymore.
I just dont understand why they cant seem to open rides in full and on time. The vast majority of theme parks without half the budget Alton Towers have got behind them can manage it.
I understand they want it open just as much as we do as it must be causing them headaches and losing them a lot of money, but they have had so many opportunities to learn from their mistakes with their poor planning of past ride openings.
And thats exactly the problem. Poor planning.

I understand the ride is complicated. But...yeah. This is now beyond a joke. I'll admit even my enthusiasm for the ride is slowly dying.
I'm really hoping it opens next weekend. For some reason I don't want it to affect South Meet, as I seem to have more enthusiasm for re-riding Stealth and Saw.

This is starting to get beyond a joke now. Missing the Saturday is a disaster, end of story. Deciding when it is going to open on a day by day basis is also very unfair on visitors, each time they have announced it will be closed the next day they have given just 20 hours notice. This cannot be seen as acceptable. I don't know what to think any more.

Agreed!
They should just quit this 20 hours notice crap and say it will open on 31st May. Or if things are worse announce a June opening.
It's too short notice and for the UKs leading theme park I think this is just unacceptable. It's not giving off a very good image.
I would have thought they may have released a statement on the website, given that their signature new coaster has not opened on the advertised date.
They should delay opening until next Saturday now, so that the holiday crowd can make other plans this week rather than having to travel all the way to find it may or may not be closed.
It's really not very guest focused. I'm sure they want to get it open as soon as possible, but announcing every day it will be closed the following day is pretty unprofessional, especially during school holidays.

Although this is highly infuriating for everyone at least they are letting the tickets be re validated. They could whip out the "terms and conditons" spiel and tell everyone to do one, but I do think they need to be honest and say if its not going to be open for another week etc.
