Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

These last two updates at least definitely look like part screen shots from videos, maybe either queue line videos or videos shown on the spider thingy.

I reckon The Inoculator could be the name for the big spider like structure. I hope it is actually, it will be nice to stop calling it a spider thing when it clearly isn't a spider!

:)

But as I mentioned further up the page, the first word in that screenshot looks like "beater" as in, "world beater". I reckon this is the ride name.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Looking at the 'smiles' that Alton posted on Facebook, does anyone think they stand for three inversions, such as heartline rolls?

Therefore, this would take the ride to 11 inversions...

The Inoculator links in to the DNA strands that were part of the initial marketing for the ride - vaccination / inoculation.

Not sure about it as a name, though. Trying to think what this could mean for the back story. Inoculating the world from unhappiness and fear to create a world of joy?

EDIT: Also, looks like the word before is "beater", so guess they're moving away from "world first" in the marketing again.

The E you are referring to looks more like an O to me.

I think it's just "The Inoculator" again, but in white.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

The way it's been announced seems to suggest that it is the rides name as like I said earlier they've clearly been building up to something big (and not just enthusiast big like the name of an object or element).

As for my opinion I like it. There's a few too many syllables for it to flow perfectly and I'd drop the "The" but once people get used to what the word means I think it might work. By definition it fits what we know of the theme.

Inoculator

"Let's go on Inoculator"

I quite like that on its own. My only concern is the obscurity of the word but I suppose it fits the theme. Just seems a weird name for a roller coaster, doesn't exactly scream "loads of flipping inversions!"

They should call it that instead :D

It wouldn't be the most obscure coaster out there, with coasters like Sheikra and Verbolten etc. have very strange names indeed. The problem is, it isn't even close to sounding like a coaster name. It's completely ridiculous and absurd, and I would refuse to call it that.

It's different when the name is made up because that's what it becomes, just a name. Here it just feels like they've picked this strange word out the dictionary which some of us have had to look up to understand. The name determines the vibe of the ride in a sense and I can just imagine people walking round it thinking 'Eh?'

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

'Inoculator' would be excellent, I'd say. 'The Inoculator' not so much.

Both would be better than The Smiler, which I haven't warmed to at all. Still think it is awful, but it probably is going to be that sadly.

I was just about to say it looks like the same word.

I disagree. I'd heard of the word before. "Inoculate against" is pretty much interchangeable with "Vaccinate against". It's quite an old-fashioned sounding word which kinda fits in with the old-school scientific experiment vibe that AT have been putting out in relation to SW7.

I think you're spot on there! The word before it is definitely not "beater" as the penultimate letter in the word is not an "e", looks much more like an "o".

:)

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

I thought being 'Inoculated' against a virus, disease etc, was common practice during childhood/teenage life? I thought everyone knew the meaning of the word!

It's a strong link with the DNA strands we saw at the beginning of the SW7 developments, and it certainly fits. However. as a ride name, I do not like. In my opinion, it's worse than 'The Smiler'.

Also, the word in white could be: Creator

Let's hope it's not the ride, and more of an element within the ride.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

I'm not convinced this is the name, it's too easy a reveal and their Twitter updates really focus on enthusiasts and i wouldn't put it past Towers to troll a little. Though The Innoculator must feature in the ride somewhere.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

I'm pretty sure this will just feature in a ride video, and the ride will have a better name.

Oblivion isn't called "Goodnight, Vienna", is it?

They do have over 35,000 followers on Twitter! I agree though, I'm not convinced it's the name of the ride, I don't think this is quite how they'd reveal it. It would make sense if it was the spider or another element of the ride that we don't yet know about.

:)

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Sounds like TH13TEEN speculation with the name 'Surrender' for the name of the ride. We can hope it is a lie, not the actual name! It is a god awful name.

I'm unsure about Verbolten, but I think Sheikra is a type of bird. The names are never completely random.
