None of Thorpe's coasters are particularly stand-out in my opinion (other than possibly Swarm), and then Alton has the balance of dark rides and family rides.
To be honest I don't really think that's any less true of Chessington or Legoland. Which kinda suggests that Towers is the best value for money, but I don't really like that view either, 'cause it's really not... ???Bear said:Lottie. said:I definitely think the entry cost is a lot - I've got a merlin pass but my friend doesn't as she feels it's too expensive.
I've always felt Thorpe was too expensive, especially compared to the likes of Towers where you have more stuff to do, and also free reign of the gardens. I'm not justifying how much Towers actually costs (because it's absolutely ridiculous), but there is a fair bit less value for money to be found at Thorpe.
I hope not! I still haven't managed to have a go on the Slammer yet because it has been closed each time I've visited. Even just one go would be enough! :/pluk said:Also, don't think it's been mentioned hear that Slammer is very much ill, possibly terminally. It is closed for the foreseeable and rumoured (not for the first time, I grant you!) to be beyond repair.
SLAMMER is currently unavailable, but will be back in all it’s awesomeness soon.

Every year since around 2007 the queues have been minimal every time I visit, however, on a couple of trips last year and 1 this year, I have seen the queues for Slammer a lot bigger than previously (up to 40 minutes sometimes). I know that's still relatively short, but it's been the biggest I've seen Slammer get since around 2005/2006.
Personally, I hope Slammer stays.
