Thorpe Park: General Discussion

What’s changed with the walk up in London?

Everything is now pre-book only, no more walking up to the eye fast track or the plastic shop and just walk in, they won't let you unless you have one of those special ed silver passes.

Oh and it's a £1 to book a time slot - each.

Except for going on X / TWD:TR unless there's an odd numbered group near you in the queue (last time I went it was walk on and I had to wait 15 minutes for a group of 3 to appear)
I thought they had walkers who sit with single riders so there was no waiting about?

Or in typical Merlin fashion they realised how expensive that was and dropped it

They probably dropped it, but last time I rode it was when it was still X and I tried to get one of the ops to go with me but wasn't happening. When I went earlier this year TWD:TR hadn't opened yet.

Is the booking not optional to guarantee a pace? The MAP website seems to suggest this is the case, I’ve not been to London since December so don’t really know

I'm not 100% sure but I believe if you don't have a pre-booked time slot you join the regular queue now, not being a MAP holder now I don't get the updates other than the Facebook group and there were quiet a few people in there rather unhappy with the new setup now.

Yes 100% true, and if Merlin had it there way, pre-booking a time slot will be rolled out to all of it's attractions including the Sealife centres around the UK.

Wouldn’t surprise me.

Had flick through, this from the parks mouthpiece but couldn’t spot it on any official channels.

Thorpe Park annual fastrack pass for £400, doesn’t include park entry
Things are going to get a lot worse.

VIP passholders get FT on everything, DBGT and Walking Dead ride, detonator even the frightnight mazes
why would anyone spend £400 on FT for 1 park o_O

Shocking show at Thorpe not giving this annual fastrack everything as well
Who knows, if you add a premium pass in as well that’s £625 so you might as well go the whole hog and get VIP for another £100.

Expect a big hike in VIP pass prices if this takes off...
I think this does make you wonder if they have begun to realise the VIP pass is waaayyyyy underpriced. If the three year wait didn't....*

* which leads me to wonder if they are increasing the number of passes gradually each year or if there is an expectation that a third of VIP passholders won't renew.

The VIP price will increase. Why would you not jack up the price when there’s a massive amount of suckers/customers waiting to hand over their money?
