No surprise there. All we need is Mingo to announce the same for their 10-looper and it will be a full house.

What about Turbulence and Firebowl at Fantasy Island. True though.

Not quite; Chessington did open Rainforest in March, and Legoland also opened their DUPLO Dino Coaster in March, if we’re being pedantic. But that’s still a very large proportion of UK 2020 attractions delayed to 2021 now!

Like the rest of you, I would also like to say that this news does not surprise me at all.

Good point, I'd forgotten about those. Turbulence is already delayed anyway.

Just surprised they're still bothering at all to be honest.

The IP will be dated before it even opens. Even for Thorpe, that's a first.

I love this reaction video to seeing a 'Merlin world class themed accommodation' room at Thorpe Park for the first time. :grinning:

    Contains language.

It appears that ahead of reopening Thorpe Park have increased their online ticket price from £33 to £39.

This makes them the most expensive Merlin park in the UK for online booking.

Could we see Towers do something similar closer to 4th July? Or are they keeping their prices at 2019 levels?

I’ll be interested to see whether they opt for this price or the on the day rate when they open the reservation slots.

£39 is obviously to drive pass sales, for £16 more come back for the whole season for free.

Although standard passes almost immediately hit exclusion dates, and I believe any bought now will only last until the end of this season, with only those bought earlier in the year extending to midway through next season.

Strange time to put a price increase in, seeing as they're likely about to announce a number of attractions won't open this year.

Makes logical business sence. The park will easily hit the reduced capacity so why not charge the people entering more?

From a guest perspective their are 2 ways to look at it. 1) I'm paying more for a lesser experience which is bad or 2) I'm paying more but the park is supper quite so I might have a better day!
While most of us fall into group 1 you'd be surprised how many will quite happily pay for a more exclusive day out.

Thorpe's standards ops plus the new cleaning procedures will probably mean the queues don't change even if there's a reduced capacity.

Plus Fastrack will still be sold. Because of course it will.

I am sure I read there would be no Fastrack somewhere, perhaps that was someone's wishful thinking rather than a truth.

They are still selling island unlimited fastrack if you have the link for the 4th but non appear to have been sold for the entirety of July.

"ladies and gentlemen can I have your attention please, were experiencing a momentary delay whilst we retrieve a mask that has fallen off. We recommend you visit one of our other rides and attractions here at THORPE PARK Resort."
I get the feeling that's going to be common at detonator.

It seems Fright Nights received a substantial reduction in dates.

Usually the Thorpe Breaks is more reliable than the main website, but they are still selling tickets 3rd - 17th though and I’ve got tickets for 3rd & 10th.
