Yes - stay for the summer nights thing - you won't regret it, and you'll get on a lot more rides than you will during the day.

1. Don't sit on the back of Colossus. It's a good ride if you sit further forward.
2. Tidal Wave gets you really wet. Like REALLY wet. Expect to wring yourself out after.
3. Don't expect Nemesis Inferno to be like Nemesis. Comparing will just take the fun out.
4. Sit on the right hand side of THE SWARM if you can.
5. Try to fit in X if you can. I was pretty impressed since they returned it all.
6. Enjoy

There's gonna be big money in this, in terms of both return and investment. Shame the can't foster their own ideas more so and are going the way of Universal, but they're some pretty strong properties. Although I'm a bit confused as the how a Blair Witch maze might work. It's an incredible movie by virtue of the fact that nothing much happens at all.
Cabin in the Woods has so much potential!
There's gonna be big money in this, in terms of both return and investment. Shame the can't foster their own ideas more so and are going the way of Universal, but they're some pretty strong properties. Although I'm a bit confused as the how a Blair Witch maze might work. I'm stunned by this announcement to be honest. 5 new scare attractions?
I don't really care that the mazes are IP based, either way they're going to bloody brilliant; immersive and terrifying! With Lionsgate's funding, Fright Nights could be absolutely spectacular this year. Definitely throwing Scarefest off the top spot of the places to visit this Halloween season. That is of course if Alton Towers don't pull out something amazing to wow us all (which I'm very much doubting)
Anway, Thorpe is definitely the place to watch.

Now that would be amazing! The old railway route feels incredibly disconnected from the rest of the park! Have guests walking along the route in groups, with one or two actors at the front and back with torches as the group leaders. They could even be equipped with cameras to film to trip like they did in the actual film, and flog DVDs of them at the end of the attraction.
I haven't watched the film for a good while, but if I remember rightly didn't it end in that deserted cabin basement? Stick in a couple of shipping containers with a themed facade around the front of it so it looks like an old wooden shack, and plonk it towards the end of the route in the woods. Couple of actors inside, with an excuse to get people running out of the end of the thing.
I would honestly really consider doing something like this, and I can't stand mazes or scare attractions
I'm really really intrigued by the event, and I'd love to go to it. I wish Thorpe all the best with it, and really hope it's a success for them. Could open the UK up to a line of actually events, rather than late openings with a couple of seasonal attractions chucked in

My guess is Frightnights will be the one to watch this year, at least it's moving on instead of stagnating like Scarefest is.
My only concern is they will move to a paid maze system, if the also keep the ticket price increase for FN that they usually do then its going to be a bit expensive.

Yes, but it will actually be a premium, high quality, worthwhile event... and still cheaper minute for minute than the cinema, but you get to BE in the films

Seriously?
Summer nights, a free fast tracking system, sacking off those stupid characters, bringing families back, total revamp of Fright Nights attempting to apparently create a total event with continuity through it all, and extended... I think someone has been reading these forums!! Come on, that is everything we are asking for... perhaps not quite as we'd like it to work just yet, but certainly all those things have been greatly discussed on these boards on many, many occasions.
OK, they have not totally succeeded in any of these ventures quite yet, but my goodness they are promising signs - keep at it THORPE, if they actually manage to iron all these things out, and get the public used to them being there (especially the later night openings) then TP will be the ones really setting the best example.
I just hope Merlin give it long enough to prove those changes will work, because given the right backing, they will.
Absolutely full of praise, they really are trying to turn that park around, and frankly, are putting Towers to shame right now.

I have heard that these new mazes will be the American style "continuous conga line" rather than batched conga lines. I really hope not. I'd much rather the German style "just wander through without having to hold on to people". I hate conga lines.

That is what it looks like... But mazes are already open between 3pm till 10pm. So unless they will open them earlier for a charge ive no idea... Wouldnt be to against that actually that could pretty much replace fastrack! I cant see them staying open much later than 10 but who knows.
