I hope they haven't replaced the TVs with flat screens, that would just won't look right.

Like they did a few seasons ago in the Octagon that left a ominous glow when the room went pitch black.

It really doesn't. It ruins the blackout effect. The ominous glow gives extra atmosphere to it.

So it's been closed for a year and all they've done is replaced a few TV's and light bulbs and painted the floor. I'm sure we knew it anyway but it doesn't take a year to do that.

From what I understand, that work was done in December/January. Only the ride hardware was touched/tweaked during last season. So it's been closed for a year and all they've done is replaced a few TV's and light bulbs and painted the floor. They can't win here - they change it too much and it gets "ruined", "just like they did with Tomb Blaster", they don't change it enough and everyone is disappointed. I'd worry less about a version 3 and just be pleased we've got version 2 instead of the ill thought out version 1.

It will have been closed for 17 months in total. 2 closed seasons and a main season. So it's been closed for a year and all they've done is replaced a few TV's and light bulbs and painted the floor. I'm sure we knew it anyway but it doesn't take a year to do that.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad Towers have gave the attraction some TLC, but there is no need for it to be closed for as long as you've said, I didn't even realise it was that long.

It wasn't closed for TLC - it was closed to save money.Don't get me wrong I'm glad Towers have gave the attraction some TLC, but there is no need for it to be closed for as long as you've said, I didn't even realise it was that long.

The queue line room had lino flooring so replacing that is potentially a larger job than just painting it.
I agree with the sentiment though, why did they need to keep it closed for the entire 2016 season other than to cut costs.

Regarding the TVs in the Octagon room, could they not actually turn off when the room goes pitch black? I'm sure that wouldn't be impossible? When guests walk through to the Vault that still gives a small time gap for the TVs to turn back on and load up for the next batch of guests.
Saying that the glow never really bothered me that much. It's not as good as the room being completely pitch black, but it certainly does not ruin the experience and you're more drawn to the noises/effects around you regardless.

Yeah it could be possible, Burton Screamfest do exactly that for one of there scare mazes, however being a scare maze it didn't leave enough of a time gap so quite often saw a giant LG Logo appear killing all atmosphere!Regarding the TVs in the Octagon room, could they not actually turn off when the room goes pitch black? People need to get over the lies peddled by the park about the ride closures last season. If you didn't realise that it was a pack of lies to cover up cuts then more fool you. It was appalling and regrettable - but that was it. The moment we leaked the stack of closures in November 2015, it was quite obvious that this was to save money. For no other reason.
Right now it's about time people look forward to Hex simply re-opening. Passionate people who love the ride as much as anyone here are working on its re-opening for the new season. They are spending a half decent sum and I reckon the results will be noticeable - it is one of the UKs best, and probably its most immersive ride - and it will be back for us all to love again very soon.
There were some that doubted it would ever re-open.

Don't worry, there will be far more TLC to come.
Looking forward to the following posts...
We've emptied the bins, and upgraded to new polyphene bin liners.
We've removed the chewing gum from the monorail station.
We've swept up the leaves that fell off the trees (just look at our new sweeping brush).
... but what about Nemesis phase 2, the silence is deafening!

TLC is three seasons I believe. They don't have to do anything else on Nemmy till next year.
