Towers Loving Care

Yeah, TLC is the only 'official' place to show the restorations off, whether or not they're technically part of the programme. The resort really needs to make a bigger deal of the heritage side of things (and particularly the gardens) but looking at their current set-up, promotion wise, this is the best we're going to get.

It would be great to see the conservatory put to use for something so that more people get to appreciate this aspect of the theme park.

I'm sure if they opened up just the gardens through the closed season and the Swiss cottage as a coffee shop they would have a steady stream of visitors, particularly those from the local area who may be past the age shall we shall of being able to go on the rides, but who may appreciate the beauty of the gardens.

Interesting reply from AT in that post for those concerned that this was the only TLC going on:

...we've got more to share about the conservatory and then we'll share more about some other TLC projects taking place across the Resort

Someone on facebook asked if there would be any updates on Dual - they replied saying there will be updates on it soon.

Very nice, we'll ignore the fact that much of this was completed by the end of last season and we have seen it all already....!

Here is tomorrow's update to save them the effort:

;)

Isn't that part at the back (left side of photo) supposed to have a roof?

They are slacking a bit. It also used to have a pretty sizeable stone chimney at its rear (guessing it was part of the heating system in bygone times) ;)

I'd have to compare old photo's to be sure, but as a wild guess I would say 1930s-ish. It is a wild guess at the moment though.

Edit - Just had a look at some photo's and one dated 1926 has the chimney. Another one from 1952 does not have the Chimney. Next time I get my folder of photo's/postcards out, I'll check any dates or postmarks on them and see if I can narrow it down a bit more. Guessing 1930s though, as above.
