Tripsdrill: General Discussion

Sorry for double posting, but people are now riding Hals-über-Kopf and Volldampf, and we also now have POV footage from Hals-über-Kopf:

I’ve got to say, that looks absolutely phenomenal! It just looks to have everything; nice inversions, good pacing, a smooth and comfortable ride, and even some very nice pops of airtime, which is rare on an invert! On the whole; fantastic work, Vekoma and Tripsdrill!

You absolutely would be; the station and theming are apparently being completed for the 2021 season, and there is a large banner promoting the station for next year covering up the concrete to passers-by!

Sorry for double posting, but I also found a POV of Volldampf:

Looking very good! The layout is nice and long (well, long as far as Family Boomerangs go), and the station theming looks really nice too!

I have a strong dislike for Junior Boomerangs at the best of times, but Volldampf looks especially awful! Although I do like the interaction with Hals-über-Kopf.

Tripsdrill, like some other smaller European parks, often install the coaster one year and the theming the next year when it comes to major investments. I would imagine it is to help them spread the cost, and if it allows them to make quality additions then I am all for it.

They did the same with Karacho in 2014.

Didn't Hansa Park do the same with Karnan's tower?

The invert looks really nippy. Really liking the final inversion that they’ve squeezed in at the end. Adds a final bit of something before the brake run rather than just fizzling out.

Rode both the new coasters yesterday. Volldampf is by far the dullest of the junior boomerangs, particularly on the return section.

Hals-Uber-Kopf feels like the SFC but on steroids. Butter smooth with the same upper body freedom makes for a comfortable and pleasant seating arrangement. Pacing is superb and the inversions mostly come at surprising moments with a mild degree of intensity.

It's a good benchmark for the new type, but ultimately I'd like to see more done with it. Hals consistent use of rolls grows weary after several re-rides and I feel it would have benefitted from a loop or immellmann. With that said, it will benefit massively when the theming is complete and interactions are there.

A great addition to the Tripsdrill line-up which helped to make a well-rounded, pleasant first visit to the park.

What did you think to the, er... risque, water rides? :p

If it was your first visit, I’d also be intrigued to know your thoughts on some of the park’s other rides (e.g. Karacho, Mammut).

Nice to see that Hals and Volldampf seem to be working well for the park, however!

Boobs tbh.

Karacho was great fun, surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Mammut wasn't the best, albeit I preferred it on the front row compared to the best.

Also the tilting drop tower was bizarre, rough and terrifying.
