Tripsdrill: General Discussion

Looks like the STC image looks to be based on a Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster. It will be interesting to see if the trains are actually like that.

Construction of the new coasters is well under way, and Tripsdrill posted this brilliant aerial overview photo yesterday:

And the first track piece for the STC has been installed:

Looks like the coasters are going right next to the car parks/entrance area.

This looks like a mega development by Tripsdrill standards - very exciting.

I only hope that it doesn’t take away some of the charm, which the park exudes everywhere else except for their current coaster corner.

At least this will mean not all of the coasters are at one end of the theme park.

I'm thinking the opposite. I loved it feeling like two distinctly different areas, the traditional style densely packed old park in contrast to the spaced out modern major rides area.

It's looking like a decent development regardless. It's a park I'm determined to revisit, the surprising star park of my Germany trip.

The 2020 park map suggests that the theming for Family Boomeran at least will not be completed until 2021:

No real surprises there.

I think that's the STC station, with the boomerang station in the middle of the map.

Why is the coaster being referred to as an STC/ Suspended Thrill Coaster, rather than the more common SLC? What’s the difference between this and a typical SLC? It has 4 inversions according to RCDB.

The STC is an entirely new product from Vekoma replacing the SLC. New trains, new track and new layout.

Looking great, although still quite a lot to do.

Do we have any more information on an expected opening date? We’re there the start of May and it feels touch and go from looking at that video.

Vekoma have given a sneak peak at the new STC trains coming to Tripdrill:
