What's your current coaster count?

Aside from coaster count, what other resources are available to seek out funfair coasters? I’ve got a couple of trips to Belgium and Germany the next couple of months and would like to see if I can find some fairs on our travels.

Social media is always a shout, found multiple fairs with a combo of Google and FB searching. The history section on Coaster Count is good if you take the rough dates of 2024s fairs and then dig if they're on again.

For viewing fair history:

Pick a continent, then country, then select funfairs and it should get you to this page:

If you select Fair history, it should come up like this:

This list is scrollable as far back as info is available. If you were flying into Frankfurt in late March/early April 2026 for example, you could see that the Frankfurt Frühjahrs-Dippemess is usually on around this time. If you selected this year's event, it comes up like this:

Showing what was there this year. This also has its own history tab as seen and that curates a list of all the times the event has been recorded on Coaster-Count:

There is also the option to go by location instead of fair history inside funfairs, which could be useful if you wanted a trip to somewhere on a City Break and then could time the break to coincide with the event possibly:

I have an interesting question for the coaster counters among us today; what would your count be if you were only allowed to count cloned or mirrored cloned layouts once? So for example, if you’d ridden 10 689m Standard SLCs, you could only count a 689m Standard SLC once. Or if you’d ridden 20 standard Pinfari Big Apples, you could only count a standard Pinfari Big Apple once.

I currently have 135 coasters under my belt, but in terms of cloned models; if we’re being generous and only counting things that are technically the same exact model with the exact same layout, I have:
  • Reverchon Classic Spinning Coaster: 7 (-6)
  • Vekoma Junior Coaster 335m: 2 (-1)
  • Zierer Tivoli Large: 2 (-1)
  • Mack Powered Coaster Version 2: 2 (-1)
That would take 9 coasters away from my count, so under that definition, I would lose 6.7% of my count and my count would be reduced to 126.

But if we’re being really harsh, there are a couple more I could potentially think of:
  • For all intents and purposes, Walt Disney World’s Barnstormer, while technically a Vekoma Junior Coaster Custom due to its transfer track and 2nd train, is effectively a mirrored Vekoma Junior Coaster 207m in terms of ride experience. Having also ridden Tami-Tami at PortAventura, that would give me 2 Vekoma Junior Coaster 207m models and add a further (-1) to the list.
  • I’ve done 4 sets of duelling coasters where I have 2 sides each, and if we’re being really harsh, the only ones where I’d say that the layouts were audibly different enough to not feel like mirrors or clones were Dragon Challenge at Islands of Adventure. If we consider the others to be clones, I’ve ridden 2 sides each of Steeplechase at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Stampida at PortAventura and Minifigure Speedway at Legoland Windsor, so that would be a further (-3) for the list.
  • If we’re being really harsh, could Colossus at Thorpe Park and Sik at Flamingo Land be considered clones for the purposes of this exercise? I know they are different revisions of the Intamin 10 Inversion Coaster, with Colossus being Rev A and Sik being Rev B with an altered first drop, but they do share mostly the same layout, so under a really harsh definition, that would be a further (-1) for the list.
Under the harshest possible definition of clone, my count would reduce by 14 coasters, or 10.4%. This would take me to 121 coasters.

It’s certainly interesting to ponder! What does everyone else come out at?

I must be at about 25 Wacky Worms, plus multiple of other types such as Reverchon Spinners
