Winter Wonderland 2016

I thought a 23 hour bus trip from London to Munich for Olympia Looping was well worth it. (the beer there was also another reason it was worth it.) So I'm not surprised and I am pleased that people are traveling the length of the UK for it and enjoying it.

For anyone who has been, what else is worth doing? So far I have booked Cirque Berserk, magical ice kingdom and the nutcracker. I plan on doing OL, the Maus XXL and the carrousel bar.

what's wrong with DLP (never been there myself yet, though)?

There isn't much wrong with it really. Parc Disneyland is beautiful, but the maintanace was poor, although they have fixed a lot this year (look how much has been closed for maintenance / rebuilding, soome rides been closed for a year).
For me the main thing is that I would rather put the money towards a Florida trip where I have 10+ theme parks and water parks, compared to just two at DLP. Also food is incredibly expensive at Paris, at least the dollar exchange rate made Florida a little cheaper (pre-brexit anyway).

The 3 of us went in may. My 4 year old lads 1st taste of disney. We absolutely loved the place.

My wife has only been to florida once on our honeymoon, myself 7 times. My thoughts on wdw have completely changed since going to dlp.

Against the popular opinion, I hate epcot, bores the crap out of me. Hollywood studios doesn't do anything for me anymore. Not a big of drop towers and can do r&rc at dlp. The only think it has going for it is toy story mania.

Magic Kingdom is just a joke. Too crowded and nothing special to make it worth going.

The only wdw park that we love is animal Kingdom. The place is beautiful. Also the water parks we love.

Orlando is defo on the cards for us as a family in the future. Just without disney I think. Dlp is our disney destination of choice

Just got back. There's no Breakdance this year. Once again, they don't sell steins. Looping was only running one train at first, eventually increased to two. Over all it feels like the market is the priority over rides. You have to navigate past thousands of sheds selling tat to get to the very few rides in the middle of the event. Were it not for Olimpia, I'd say this is the worst WW yet. (Actually, OL is pretty much the only new attraction if you've been before.)

:(

So I spent the day at ww yesterday and have to say Olympia was amazing but has some very uncomfortable restraints.

The hangover drop tower was very good but on my first try it broke down at 85m and refused to drop us so we where lowered back down and given a full refund. The secound time around it worked fine and I have to say it gave me the feeling of hurtling towards my own death 10/10 I would recommend.

So I was in London for a spot of Christmas shopping yesterday, however it would have been rude not to pop into Winter Wonderland (my first time there) for a couple of rides on Olympia Looping (also my first time on this).

First of all it is pretty damn impressive for a travelling coaster. From the sheer size of it to the fact it has it's own crane and mainteance shed. In terms of the ride, it is indeed overhyped but I expected that. However that does not mean that it is not good because it is and I cannot believe just how smoothly it rides. For me the major disappointment is the stupid and unnecessary shoulder restraints that tighten throughout the ride, it would be significantly more enjoyable without these. I did front and back row (7 car trains) and am very pleased to have finally done so!

Winter Wonderland as a whole is a beautful place with a brillaint festive atmosphere. I did not do any other rides however did have a bratwurst and Erdinger in the Bavarian Village which was lovely. The whole place feels so wonderfully European - it will be interesting to see how the event evolves after Brexit.

:)

Operations are ridiculous, when we were there last week they had trains ready to dispatch before the previous one had even cleared the lift.
