2015: Alton Towers Enchanted Village

The breakfast in the UK should not be the same as continental Europe. Yes, I love hams, cheeses and breads at breakfast time when I am abroad, but in the UK for these prices - a hot cooked breakfast should be a minimum expectation. Even on Scout Camp there was always a hot breakfast...

If a hot breakfast isn't included then it will be appalling given the cost of staying there.
 
It certainly does seem like a serious oversight that even a small buffet counter hasn't been planned into the restaurant space.
 
I can tackle cold many things for breakfast on a morning, but cold cheese and meats before a theme park day out?

I'll pass on that thanks.
 
You'd be surprised how satisfying *GOOD* cold meats and cheeses are for breakfast!

I am not going to enter into any further discussion on this forum about how satisfying "good" cold meat is for breakfast
 
In all seriousness, it's a British thing to expect a cooked breakfast in the morning. It would be expected after paying £200+ that you could at least get something cooked to wake up to. When you're away on a trip it's kinda right to stuff yourself with something fatty and greasy. It's the best way to start a day when you're on holiday, on a trip or at a theme park.

I was going to like this post but I was concerned it may give the wrong impression hahahah!

On the other post it's totally a British thing! It's a tradition! Especially if you're only away for a day or two especially.
 
I quite like some ham on a bread roll for breakfast, it's quite refreshing and wakes you up more than a greasy fry up.

But I'd much rather have a fry up.
 
I like them, just I'm not fussed whether I have them or not. I am just as interested in the continental as I am the cooked. Especially if there's american style pancakes, muffins and stuff.
 
I'm perfectly fine with toast, cereal and coffee before a day at a theme park. It's meant to be an enchanted village, not an enchanted breakfast table :p

Do not try and suggest to me Danny boy that an enchanted village does not come with magic food!!!!!!!!!!!

Now look here - breakfast, in Britain is NOT cold meats, cheeses etc. we didnt fight the Germans in WW2 to have this foreign muck on our breakfast tables, oh no sireee, and as far as I am aware, we are not all walking around in stipey t-shirts, wearing berets and stinking of garlic speaking saying "bonjeur" to each other, no sireee - we are British, and British breakfast is COOKED!!! Sausage, Egg, Bacon, Squashy Tomatoes (or bakes beans), Mushrooms, Toast, with Coffee or Tea.

You want that foreign muck then stuff a garlic glove up your bum and jump on the ferry.

But if thorpe can offer a hot buffet breakfast from a shipping container hotel it's not that hard to do
