2015: Alton Towers Enchanted Village

Fair enough, point taken. However, how many groups of 8 people do you think will go to Towers, stay over at Towers, and choose a tree house to stay in? ;)

Hen Parties, Stag dos, Large group of friends, People who have open relationships, lots of people... not to mention an ideal stay over accommodation for TS Meets ;)

I for one can go around my circle of friends and say hey want to stop at Alton Towers for a night enjoying a hot tub, gaming room etc for £81? Compared to current prices its a steal.

Besides Center Parcs charge £2499 for their Treehouses for 4 nights which equates to 624.75 per night and whilst trying to find that information I struggled to find one available earlier than sept 22nd with only one remaining (unsure how many there are) so the demand is obviously there:

Plus even though there is no theme park entry at center parcs think of the cost to do all the activities they offer, your looking about the same price if not potentially more depending on what you want to do..

At £81pppn for a treehouse it will be interesting to see what they have apart from the hot tub! I'd be expecting something slightly special about them.

£150 ish for a lodge doesn't seem too bad either, especially if you can get AP discount on that.

:)

Do we need anything more than the hot tub?

Haha but in all seriousness I can see there being relaxing living quarters with a fireplace, gaming area etc. Ideally the same set up as the Center Parcs treehouses since the Towers ones will be slightly more. Seems daft to have less for more and I am sure they will be aware of them as competition, but saying that.. this is Merlin...

EDIT: Just gone to have a look at the plans again, more specifically the treehouses. I am looking forward to seeing what becomes of them, I for one would absolutely love to staying one and hoping to gather a group to experience it on opening night :) Can just Imagine a lovely night under the stars with a bunch of pals of that decking area!

Also there is a key on the plan stating a kitchenette... Self catering? Surely not! (Well they all are but you know what I'm getting at)

I'm only seeing two bedrooms in those treehouses, one with a single and one with a double. I'm presuming the sofas both extend out to form two more double beds however that still leaves one more to make it up to 8. What am I missing?

Don't they have an upstairs? Or am I getting it wrong.

Indeed, the plan splits of and there is essentially a central tower which has spiral stairs (just below 2) to lead you up to another bedroom:

Also another section but cant figure out where this links to the overall plan:

I assume to honeycomb type square to the right of the living room is a second upstairs bit over the bedroom looking over the east side of the buildings seems to fit shape wise about right.

That second image will go above the 'master bedroom' of the downstairs - see how the steps on the left of the picture match up... :)

Really?

£81 per person per night seems fairly cheap to me for a space that includes a hot tub, especially when you do compare to Centre Parcs.

Also as for the floor, is it printed or is it carpet (towers use a lot of odd graphic carpet). Also with lots of people going in and out of the show lodge there might have gone for a carpet representation for ease of cleaning.

Since Merlin decided to become the cheap and nasty side of the theme park industry I don't hold my breath on anything but I am not going to assess a "show lodge" as a final product. They almost certainly stole the duvets from ATH for a start.

I think Mike said it's a printed hard floor in the show lodge.

I just think £81 per person per night is a lot if the only additional thing was a hot tub. Maybe I don't get the big fuss about hot tubs though! I'd like some more special and unique features for that price, which of course there may well be.

:)

I think part of the appeal (excluding hot tub) would be the fact that you can have 8 friends, all hanging out together in the place and just enjoying things. The price seems not bad for such a cool setting to spend time with people in - plus there's a hot tub ;)

Just comparing it too other large lodges that price seems very reasonable. Especially when at times Splash can reach that sort if price per person.

As for the floor, if the final lodges are printed hard floor then that's naff, hopefully that's just for the show lodge.

I think when you look at the new Moon Voyager rooms, you can pretty much expect the lodges to be of a similar quality. I'm sure there will be a few more things to add to these lodges.

When some frames with pictures are added in and the beds have a themed throw it will pretty much be themed on par with an original Splash Landings hotel room.

I definitely intend to stay the first weekend the village is open.

It looks magical.

The floor is printed vinyl and not carpet.

I had another look in the lodge yesterday and also discovered they sleep 5 people, as there is a bed that you can pull out from under the bunk beds that goes on the floor.

Also the lodge that isn't currently open (the left hand one) is a disabled lodge, and has a larger bathroom (walk in shower).

Alton Towers have confirmed that the lodges are set to open on April 18th 2015 (aka late June/early July). They are also now available to book.

A few more details:
Alton Towers said:
Woodland Lodges
Enjoy a short break in one of our 120 fantastical lodges. All sleeping 5 people, each lodge will house a king size bed, bunk bed and truckle bed. Guests can relax on their outdoor decking area, children can have fun in the quirky play areas around the village and guests can make use of the free car parking and easy access to the Theme Park and the rest of the Resort.

Luxury Treehouses
Our five exclusive treehouses sleep 8 people and all have 4 separate bedrooms with their own plasma TV. Each treehouse has its own unique style, with luxury furnishings, full self catering facilities and a relaxing lounge area with 50” plasma TV and games console. Guests can relax in their outdoor dining area, with private hot tub on the decking and beautiful views over the enchanting woodland.

I've not looked into prices too much but a lodge for 5 people on the night it opens come out at just over £50pp. I'd imagine you can get AP discount if you ring up to book.

:)
